Safety

For enhanced safety, the front seat shoulder belts of the Bugatti Tourbillon are height-adjustable to accommodate a wide variety of driver and passenger heights. A better fit can prevent injuries and the increased comfort also encourages passengers to buckle up. The Mercedes AMG GT doesn’t offer height-adjustable seat belts.

To provide maximum traction and stability on all roads, Full-Time Four-Wheel Drive is standard on the Tourbillon. But it costs extra on the Mercedes AMG GT.

Both the Tourbillon and the Mercedes AMG GT have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding and rearview cameras.

Warranty

The Tourbillon comes with a full 4-year/unlimited-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire car. The AMG GT’s 4-year/50,000-mile basic warranty expires sooner.

Bugatti pays for scheduled maintenance on the Tourbillon for 4 years and unlimited miles. Bugatti will pay for oil changes, air filter replacements, brake fluid replacement, inspections, and any other required maintenance. Mercedes doesn’t pay scheduled maintenance for the AMG GT.

Engine

The Tourbillon’s 8.3 DOHC V16 hybrid produces 1359 more horsepower (1775 vs. 416) and 664 lbs.-ft. more torque (1033 vs. 369) than the Mercedes AMG GT 43’s standard 2.0 turbo 4-cylinder hybrid. The Tourbillon’s 8.3 DOHC V16 hybrid produces 1306 more horsepower (1775 vs. 469) and 517 lbs.-ft. more torque (1033 vs. 516) than the Mercedes AMG GT 55’s standard 4.0 turbo V8. The Tourbillon’s 8.3 DOHC V16 hybrid produces 1198 more horsepower (1775 vs. 577) and 443 lbs.-ft. more torque (1033 vs. 590) than the Mercedes AMG GT 63 4MATIC+’s standard 4.0 turbo V8. The Tourbillon’s 8.3 DOHC V16 hybrid produces 970 more horsepower (1775 vs. 805) than the Mercedes AMG GT 63 S E Performance’s standard 4.0 turbo V8 hybrid.

Fuel Economy and Range

The Tourbillon can travel with zero emissions on electricity, only, on a full charge for 37 miles. The Mercedes AMG GT 63 S E Performance has to start its internal combustion engine after only 11 miles.

The Tourbillon has a standard cap-less fueling system. The fuel filler is automatically opened when the fuel nozzle is inserted and automatically closed when it’s removed. This eliminates the need to unscrew and replace the cap and it reduces fuel evaporation, which causes pollution. The Mercedes AMG GT doesn’t offer a cap-less fueling system.

Brakes and Stopping

The Tourbillon has standard air brakes, which adjust the rear spoiler automatically during high-speed braking in order to shorten stopping distances. The Mercedes AMG GT doesn’t offer air brakes.

Tires and Wheels

For better traction, the Tourbillon has larger tires than the Mercedes AMG GT (F:285/35R20 & R:345/30R21 vs. F:255/45R19 & R:285/40R19).

The Tourbillon’s 285/35R20 front and 345/30R21 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 35 series front and 30 series rear profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Mercedes AMG GT 43’s standard 45 series front and 40 series rear tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Tourbillon has standard 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels. Smaller 19-inch wheels are standard on the Mercedes AMG GT 43.

Suspension and Handling

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Tourbillon’s wheelbase is 1.5 inches longer than on the Mercedes AMG GT (107.8 inches vs. 106.3 inches).

Chassis

The Tourbillon is 7.2 inches shorter than the Mercedes AMG GT, making the Tourbillon easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.
