The Tourbillon has all-wheel drive to maximize traction under poor conditions, especially in ice and snow. The McLaren GTS doesn’t offer all-wheel drive.

The Tourbillon has standard GPS Response System, which uses a global positioning satellite (GPS) receiver and a cellular system to send emergency personnel to the scene if any airbags deploy. The Tourbillon’s 8.3 DOHC V16 hybrid produces 1149 more horsepower (1775 vs. 626) and 568 lbs.-ft. more torque (1033 vs. 465) than the McLaren GTS’ 4.0 turbo V8.

The Tourbillon can travel with zero emissions for 37 miles. The McLaren GTS can’t move without running its internal combustion engine.

Regenerative brakes improve the Tourbillon’s fuel efficiency by converting inertia back into energy instead of wasting it. The McLaren GTS doesn’t offer a regenerative braking system.

An eight-speed automatic (SMG) is standard on the Bugatti Tourbillon, for better acceleration and lower engine speed on the highway. Only a seven-speed automatic is available for the McLaren GTS.

To help keep the driver’s hands on the wheel, the Tourbillon has standard steering wheel controls for the radio. The McLaren GTS doesn’t offer steering wheel audio controls.

Standard smartphone integration for the Tourbillon allows the driver and passengers access to select programs on their smartphones, including reading text messages aloud, playing internet radio stations and other connected activities without taking their eyes off the road or their hands from the wheel.
