Compare the2025 Cadillac XT4VS 2025 Genesis GV80 Coupe

The Cadillac XT4 has standard driver and front passenger side knee airbags mounted low on the dashboard. These airbags helps prevent the driver and front passenger from sliding under their seatbelts or the main frontal airbags; this keeps them better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. Knee airbags also help keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision. The GV80 Coupe doesn’t offer a front passenger side knee airbag.

Compared to metal, the XT4’s plastic fuel tank can withstand harder, more intrusive impacts without leaking; this decreases the possibility of fire. The Genesis GV80 Coupe has a metal gas tank.

Both the XT4 and the GV80 Coupe have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front and rear seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, around view monitors, rear cross-path warning and available all wheel drive.

There are over 2 times as many Cadillac dealers as there are Genesis dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the XT4’s warranty.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2024 survey of the owners of three-year-old vehicles provides the long-term dependability statistics that show that Cadillac vehicles are more reliable than Genesis With 4 fewer problems per 100 vehicles in the first three years of ownership, J.D. Power ranks Cadillac higher than Genesis.

From surveys of all its subscribers, Consumer Reports’ January 2024 Auto Issue reports that Cadillac vehicles are more reliable than Genesis vehicles. Consumer Reports ranks Cadillac 2 places higher in reliability than Genesis.

On the EPA test cycle the XT4 gets better mileage than the GV80 Coupe:

An engine control system that can shut down some of the engine’s cylinders helps improve the XT4’s fuel efficiency. The GV80 Coupe doesn’t offer a system that can shut down part of the engine.

The XT4 has a standard cap-less fueling system. The fuel filler is automatically opened when the fuel nozzle is inserted and automatically closed when it’s removed. This eliminates the need to unscrew and replace the cap and it reduces fuel evaporation, which causes pollution. The GV80 Coupe doesn’t offer a cap-less fueling system.

A nine-speed automatic is standard on the Cadillac XT4, for better acceleration and lower engine speed on the highway. Only an eight-speed automatic is available for the GV80 Coupe.

The XT4 stops much shorter than the GV80 Coupe:

The XT4 has a standard easy tire fill system. When inflating the tires, the vehicle’s integrated tire pressure sensors keep track of the pressure as the tires fill and tell the driver when the tires are inflated to the proper pressure. The GV80 Coupe doesn’t offer vehicle monitored tire inflation.

The XT4 offers an optional space-saver spare tire so you can replace a flat tire and drive to have the flat repaired or replaced. A spare tire isn’t available on the GV80 Coupe; it requires you to depend on roadside assistance and your vehicle will have to be towed.

The XT4 Sport AWD handles at .89 G’s, while the GV80 3.5 e-Supercharger pulls only .81 G’s of cornering force in a Car and Driver skidpad test.

The XT4 Sport AWD executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver quicker than the GV80 3.5 e-Supercharger (26.3 seconds @ .66 average G’s vs. 27.2 seconds @ .66 average G’s).

For better maneuverability, the XT4’s turning circle is 1.3 feet tighter than the GV80 Coupe’s (38 feet vs. 39.3 feet).

The Cadillac XT4 may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 1300 to 1450 pounds less than the Genesis GV80 Coupe.

The XT4 is 1 foot, 2.6 inches shorter than the GV80 Coupe, making the XT4 easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The XT4 has 2.5 inches more front legroom, .7 inches more rear headroom and .8 inches more rear legroom than the GV80 Coupe.

A low lift-over cargo hatch design makes loading and unloading the XT4 easier. The XT4’s cargo hatch lift-over height is 30.5 inches, while the GV80 Coupe’s liftover is 31.6 inches.

Standard Trailer Sway Control on the XT4 uses the StabiliTrak® sensors to detect trailer sway, then uses individual brakes to counteract any swaying and help keep the tow vehicle and trailer steady. The GV80 Coupe doesn’t offer electronic trailer sway control.

J.D. Power and Associates surveys of service recipients show that Cadillac service is better than Genesis. J.D. Power ranks Cadillac fifth in service department satisfaction. With a 71% lower rating, Genesis is ranked 31st.

The XT4’s instruments include an oil pressure gauge and a temperature gauge - which could save your engine! Often ‘idiot lights’ don’t warn you until damage has been done. The GV80 Coupe does not have an oil pressure gauge.

On a hot day the XT4’s driver can lower all the windows from a distance using the keyless remote. The driver of the GV80 Coupe can’t use the remote to operate the windows.

To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the XT4 has a standard rear wiper. The GV80 Coupe doesn’t offer a rear wiper.

The XT4 is available in both front-wheel drive and four-wheel drive configurations. The GV80 Coupe doesn’t offer a two-wheel drive configuration.
