Transmission

Tires and Wheels

For better traction, the Hummer EV Pickup has larger tires than the Silverado EV (305/70R18 vs. 265/70R18). The Hummer EV Pickup’s optional tires are larger than the largest tires available on the Silverado EV (305/70R18 vs. 275/50R24).

All Hummer EV Pickups offer an optional full size spare tire so a flat doesn’t interrupt your work or a trip. A full size spare is not available on the Silverado EV RST Without it you must depend on roadside assistance and your vehicle will have to be towed.

Suspension and Handling

The front and rear suspension of the Hummer EV Pickup uses air springs for a smoother, controlled ride than the Silverado EV, which uses coil springs. Air springs maintain proper ride height and ride more smoothly.

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the Hummer EV Pickup is 4.5 inches wider in the front and 4.5 inches wider in the rear than the average track on the Silverado EV.

The Hummer EV Pickup handles at .73 G’s, while the Silverado EV RST pulls only .72 G’s of cornering force in a Car and Driver skidpad test.

For greater off-road capability the Hummer EV Pickup has a 7 inches greater minimum ground clearance than the Silverado EV (15.9 vs. 8.9 inches), allowing the Hummer EV Pickup to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged.

Chassis

The Hummer EV Pickup is 1 foot, 4.3 inches shorter than the Silverado EV, making the Hummer EV Pickup easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

Passenger Space

The Hummer EV Pickup has .6 inches more front headroom, .8 inches more front legroom and .2 inches more rear shoulder room than the Silverado EV.

Cargo Capacity

The GMC Hummer EV Pickup has a standard rear cargo step, which folds out and allows for much easier access to the cargo area. The Chevrolet Silverado EV doesn’t offer a rear cargo step.

Towing

The Hummer EV Pickup’s standard towing capacity is much higher than the Silverado EV’s (12000 vs. 10,000 pounds).

Ergonomics

The Hummer EV Pickup’s rain-sensitive wipers adjust their speed and turn on and off automatically based on the amount of rainfall on the windshield. This allows the driver to concentrate on driving without constantly adjusting the wipers. The Silverado EV’s standard manually variable intermittent wipers have to be constantly adjusted.

The Hummer EV Pickup has a standard heated steering wheel to take the chill out of steering on extremely cold winter days before the vehicle heater warms up. A heated steering wheel is only available on the Silverado EV RST.

The GMC Hummer EV Pickup has a standard Homelink wireless remote control system for garage door operation and device management, conveniently located on the driver’s visor. Homelink® eliminates the need for separate garage door openers and associated risks of losing, breaking, or having dead batteries. Homelink® is only available on the Silverado EV RST.

To quickly and conveniently keep personal devices charged without cables tangling and wearing out, the GMC Hummer EV Pickup has a standard wireless phone charging system (Qi) in the center console. Only the Silverado EV RST offers wireless charging.
