The front and rear suspension of the Hummer EV Pickup uses air springs for a smoother, controlled ride than the Silverado EV, which uses coil springs. Air springs maintain proper ride height and ride more smoothly.
For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the Hummer EV Pickup is 4.5 inches wider in the front and 4.5 inches wider in the rear than the average track on the Silverado EV.
The Hummer EV Pickup handles at .73 G’s, while the Silverado EV RST pulls only .72 G’s of cornering force in a Car and Driver skidpad test.
For better maneuverability, the Hummer EV Pickup’s turning circle is 5.1 feet tighter than the Silverado EV RST w/rear wheel steering’s (37.1 feet vs. 42.2 feet).
For greater off-road capability the Hummer EV Pickup has a 7 inches greater minimum ground clearance than the Silverado EV (15.9 vs. 8.9 inches), allowing the Hummer EV Pickup to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged.
