Compare the2025 Cadillac CT5VS 2024 Maserati Quattroporte

In the past twenty years hundreds of infants and young children have died after being left in vehicles, usually by accident. When turning the vehicle off, drivers of the CT5 are reminded to check the back seat if they opened the rear door before starting out. The Quattroporte doesn’t offer a back seat reminder.

The Cadillac CT5 has standard driver and front passenger side knee airbags mounted low on the dashboard. These airbags helps prevent the driver and front passenger from sliding under their seatbelts or the main frontal airbags; this keeps them better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. Knee airbags also help keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision. The Quattroporte doesn’t offer a front passenger side knee airbag.

Over 200 people are killed each year when backed over by motor vehicles. The CT5 has standard Reverse Automatic Braking that uses rear sensors to monitor for objects to the rear and automatically applies the brakes to prevent a collision. The Quattroporte doesn’t offer backup collision prevention brakes.

Both the CT5 and Quattroporte have rear cross-traffic warning, but the CT5 has Rear Cross Traffic Braking (automatically applies the brakes) to better prevent a collision when backing near traffic. The Quattroporte’s Rear Cross Path doesn’t automatically brake.

The CT5’s driver alert monitor detects an inattentive driver then sounds a warning and suggests a break. According to the NHTSA, drivers who fall asleep cause about 100,000 crashes and 1500 deaths a year. The Quattroporte doesn’t offer a driver alert monitor.

Both the CT5 and the Quattroporte have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, around view monitors, rear cross-path warning and available all wheel drive.

Cadillac’s powertrain warranty covers the CT5 2 years and 20,000 miles longer than Maserati covers the Quattroporte. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 6 years or 70,000 miles. Coverage on the Quattroporte ends after only 4 years or 50,000 miles.

The CT5’s corrosion warranty is 2 years and unlimited miles longer than the Quattroporte’s (6/unlimited vs. 4/50,000).

There are over 5 times as many Cadillac dealers as there are Maserati dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the CT5’s warranty.

A reliable vehicle saves its owner time, money and trouble. Nobody wants to be stranded or have to be without a vehicle while it’s being repaired. Consumer Reports rates the CT5’s reliability 35 points higher than the Quattroporte.

On the EPA test cycle the CT5 gets better mileage than the Quattroporte:

An engine control system that can shut down some of the engine’s cylinders helps improve the CT5’s fuel efficiency. The Quattroporte doesn’t offer a system that can shut down part of the engine.

In its Green Vehicle Guide, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the Cadillac CT5 higher (5 to 7 out of 10) than the Maserati Quattroporte (3). This means the CT5 produces up to 24.5 pounds less smog-producing pollutants than the Quattroporte every 15,000 miles.

A 10-speed automatic is standard on the Cadillac CT5, for better acceleration and lower engine speed on the highway. Only an eight-speed automatic is available for the Quattroporte.

For better traction, the CT5’s optional tires are larger than the largest tires available on the Quattroporte (255/35R20 vs. 245/35R21).

The CT5 has a standard easy tire fill system. When inflating the tires, the vehicle’s integrated tire pressure sensors keep track of the pressure as the tires fill and tell the driver when the tires are inflated to the proper pressure. The Quattroporte doesn’t offer vehicle monitored tire inflation.

Having a flat tire is dangerous, inconvenient and expensive. The self-sealing tires available on the CT5 can automatically seal most punctures up to 3/16 of an inch, effectively preventing most flat tires. The Quattroporte doesn’t offer self-sealing tires.

The Cadillac CT5 may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 400 to 550 pounds less than the Maserati Quattroporte.

The CT5 is 1 foot, 1.4 inches shorter than the Quattroporte, making the CT5 easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The CT5 has .4 inches more front headroom and .4 inches more rear shoulder room than the Quattroporte.

The CT5 offers an optional heads-up display that projects speed, tachometer, navigation instruction, infotainment and driver assistance information readouts in front of the driver’s line of sight, allowing drivers to view information without diverting their eyes from the road. The Quattroporte doesn’t offer a heads-up display.

If the windows are left open on the CT5 the driver can close them all from a distance using the remote. On a hot day the driver can also lower the windows the same way. The driver of the Quattroporte can only close the windows from inside the vehicle, with the ignition on.

The CT5’s standard Keyless Access allow you to unlock the doors from any outside door handle, open the trunk, and start the engine, all without removing the key from the pocket or purse. Keyless Go standard on the Quattroporte doesn’t offer a sensor on the rear doors, so you’ll have to reach a front handle to unlock the rear door.

To shield the driver and front passenger’s vision over a larger portion of the windshield and side windows, the CT5 has standard extendable sun visors. The Quattroporte doesn’t offer extendable visors.

The CT5 has a standard heated steering wheel to take the chill out of steering on extremely cold winter days before the car heater warms up. A heated steering wheel costs extra on the Quattroporte.

The CT5 has standard massaging front seats in order to maximize comfort and eliminate fatigue on long trips. Massaging seats aren’t available in the Quattroporte.

The CT5’s Enhanced Automatic Parking Assist can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, starting and stopping automatically, with the driver only responsible for switching from reverse to drive. The Quattroporte doesn’t offer an automated parking system.

The CT5 is available in both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations. The Quattroporte doesn’t offer a two-wheel drive configuration.
