Compare the2023 Bugatti ChironVS 2021 Nissan GT-R

The Chiron has a standard 360 degree parking monitor to allow the driver to see objects all around the vehicle on a screen. The GT-R only offers a rear monitor and front and rear parking sensors that beep or flash a light. That doesn’t help with obstacles to the sides.

The Chiron’s blind spot camera is used to display a wide-angle view of the passenger side of the road. The GT-R doesn’t offer a system to reveal objects in the driver’s blind spots.

Both the Chiron and the GT-R have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights and rearview cameras.

The Chiron’s standard 8.0 turbo 16-cylinder produces 914 more horsepower (1479 vs. 565) and 713 lbs.-ft. more torque (1180 vs. 467) than the GT-R’s standard 3.8 turbo V6. The Chiron’s 8.0 turbo 16-cylinder produces 879 more horsepower (1479 vs. 600) and 699 lbs.-ft. more torque (1180 vs. 481) than the GT-R NISMO’s standard 3.8 turbo V6. The Chiron Super Sport’s standard 8.0 turbo 16-cylinder produces 978 more horsepower (1578 vs. 600) and 699 lbs.-ft. more torque (1180 vs. 481) than the GT-R NISMO’s standard 3.8 turbo V6.

The Chiron has 6.9 gallons more fuel capacity than the GT-R (26.4 vs. 19.5 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

A seven-speed automatic (SMG) is standard on the Bugatti Chiron, for better acceleration and lower engine speed on the highway. Only a six-speed automatic is available for the GT-R.

For better stopping power the Chiron’s brake rotors are larger than those on the GT-R:

The Chiron has standard air brakes, which adjust the spoiler automatically during high-speed braking in order to shorten stopping distances. The GT-R doesn’t offer air brakes.

For better traction, the Chiron has larger tires than the GT-R (F:285/30R20 & R:355/25R21 vs. F:255/40R20 & R:285/35R20).

The Chiron’s 285/30R20 front and 355/25R21 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 30 series front and 25 series rear profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the GT-R’s standard 40 series front and 35 series rear tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Chiron has standard 21-inch rear wheels. Only 20-inch wheels are available on the GT-R.

The Chiron has a standard automatic front and rear load leveling suspension to keep ride height level with a heavy load or when towing. The Chiron’s height leveling suspension allows the driver to raise ride height for better off-road clearance and then lower it again for easier entering and exiting and better on-road handling. The GT-R doesn’t offer a load leveling suspension.

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the Chiron is 6.1 inches wider in the front and 2.4 inches wider in the rear than the average track on the GT-R.

The Chiron is 5.7 inches shorter than the GT-R Premium, making the Chiron easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

When three different drivers share the Chiron, the optional memory seats make it convenient for all three. Each setting activates different, customized memories for the driver’s seat position. The GT-R doesn’t offer memory seats.

The Chiron’s power mirror controls are mounted on the door for easy access. The GT-R’s power mirror controls are on the dash where they are possibly hidden by the steering wheel and are awkward to manipulate.
