Compare the2023 Bugatti ChironVS 2023 Chevrolet Corvette

The Chiron has all-wheel drive to maximize traction under poor conditions, especially in ice and snow. The Corvette doesn’t offer all-wheel drive.

The Chiron has a standard 360 degree parking monitor to allow the driver to see objects all around the vehicle on a screen. The Corvette only offers a rear monitor and rear parking sensors that beep or flash a light. That doesn’t help with obstacles to the front or sides.

Both the Chiron and the Corvette have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights and rearview cameras.

The Bugatti Chiron weighs 424 to 964 pounds more than the Chevrolet Corvette. The NHTSA advises that heavier cars are much safer in collisions than their significantly lighter counterparts.

For smoother operation, better efficiency and fewer moving parts, the engines in the Chiron have an overhead cam design, rather than the old pushrod design of some of the engines in the Corvette.

The Chiron has 7.9 gallons more fuel capacity than the Corvette (26.4 vs. 18.5 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

All wheel drive, available in the Chiron, provides the best traction for acceleration in wet, dry, and icy conditions. In corners, all wheel drive allows both outside wheels to provide power, balancing the car. This allows for better handling. The Chevrolet Corvette is not available with all wheel drive.

For better stopping power the Chiron’s brake rotors are larger than those on the Corvette:

The Chiron has standard air brakes, which adjust the spoiler automatically during high-speed braking in order to shorten stopping distances. The Corvette doesn’t offer air brakes.

For better traction, the Chiron has larger tires than the Corvette (F:285/30R20 & R:355/25R21 vs. F:245/35R19 & R:305/30R20). The Chiron’s tires are larger than the largest tires available on the Corvette (F:285/30R20 & R:355/25R21 vs. F:275/30R20 & R:345/25R21).

The Chiron’s 285/30R20 front and 355/25R21 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 30 series front and 25 series rear profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Corvette’s standard 35 series front and 30 series rear tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Chiron has standard 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels. Smaller 19-inch front and 20-inch rear wheels are standard on the Corvette.

The Chiron has a standard automatic front and rear load leveling suspension to keep ride height level with a heavy load or when towing. The Chiron’s height leveling suspension allows the driver to raise ride height for better off-road clearance and then lower it again for easier entering and exiting and better on-road handling. The Corvette doesn’t offer a load leveling suspension.

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the Chiron is 3.3 inches wider in the front and 1.2 inches wider in the rear than the average track on the Corvette.

The Chiron’s front to rear weight distribution is more even (43% to 57%) than the Corvette’s (40% to 60%). This gives the Chiron more stable handling and braking.

The Chiron Sport handles at 1.06 G’s, while the Corvette Coupe pulls only 1.03 G’s of cornering force in a Car and Driver skidpad test.

The Chiron is 3.4 inches shorter than the Corvette, making the Chiron easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

As tested by Car and Driver while under full throttle, the interior of the Chiron Sport is quieter than the Corvette Coupe (85 vs. 92 dB).

The Chiron has 3 cubic feet more passenger volume than the Corvette (54 vs. 51).
