The Chiron has all-wheel drive to maximize traction under poor conditions, especially in ice and snow. The DB11 doesn’t offer all-wheel drive.

Both the Chiron and the DB11 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights and around view monitors.

The Chiron’s standard 8.0 turbo 16-cylinder produces 951 more horsepower (1479 vs. 528) and 667 lbs.-ft. more torque (1180 vs. 513) than the DB11 V8’s standard 4.0 turbo V8. The Chiron’s 8.0 turbo 16-cylinder produces 849 more horsepower (1479 vs. 630) and 664 lbs.-ft. more torque (1180 vs. 516) than the DB11 V12’s standard 5.2 turbo V12. The Chiron Super Sport’s standard 8.0 turbo 16-cylinder produces 948 more horsepower (1578 vs. 630) and 664 lbs.-ft. more torque (1180 vs. 516) than the DB11 V12’s standard 5.2 turbo V12.

The Chiron has 5.9 gallons more fuel capacity than the DB11 (26.4 vs. 20.5 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

The Chiron offers a standard sequential manual gearbox (SMG). With no clutch pedal to worry about and a fully automatic mode, an SMG is much more efficient than a conventional automatic but just as easy to drive. The DB11 doesn’t offer an SMG or a conventional manual transmission.

All wheel drive, available in the Chiron, provides the best traction for acceleration in wet, dry, and icy conditions. In corners, all wheel drive allows both outside wheels to provide power, balancing the car. This allows for better handling. The Aston Martin DB11 is not available with all wheel drive.

For better stopping power the Chiron’s brake rotors are larger than those on the DB11:

The Chiron has standard heat-treated ceramic brake rotors, which last ten to twenty times as long as conventional cast iron rotors, don’t rust, don’t fade during repeated high speed braking, and their lighter weight contribute to better braking, handling and acceleration. The DB11 doesn’t offer ceramic brake rotors.

The Chiron has standard air brakes, which adjust the spoiler automatically during high-speed braking in order to shorten stopping distances. The DB11 doesn’t offer air brakes.

For better traction, the Chiron has larger tires than the DB11 (F:285/30R20 & R:355/25R21 vs. F:255/40R20 & R:295/35R20).

The Chiron’s 285/30R20 front and 355/25R21 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 30 series front and 25 series rear profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the DB11’s standard 40 series front and 35 series rear tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Chiron has standard 21-inch rear wheels. Only 20-inch wheels are available on the DB11.

The Chiron has a standard automatic front and rear load leveling suspension to keep ride height level with a heavy load or when towing. The Chiron’s height leveling suspension allows the driver to raise ride height for better off-road clearance and then lower it again for easier entering and exiting and better on-road handling. The DB11 doesn’t offer a load leveling suspension.

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the Chiron is 3.3 inches wider in the front and .6 inches wider in the rear than on the DB11.

The Chiron Sport handles at 1.06 G’s, while the DB11 pulls only .94 G’s of cornering force in a Car and Driver skidpad test.

The Chiron is 8.1 inches shorter than the DB11, making the Chiron easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The Chiron’s instruments include an oil pressure gauge and a temperature gauge - which could save your engine! Often ‘idiot lights’ don’t warn you until damage has been done. The DB11 does not have an oil pressure gauge.
