Safety

The Electrified GV70’s pre-crash front seatbelts will tighten automatically in the event the vehicle detects an impending crash, improving protection against injury significantly. The Luce doesn’t offer pre-crash pretensioners.

For enhanced safety, the front seat shoulder belts of the Genesis Electrified GV70 are height-adjustable to accommodate a wide variety of driver and passenger heights. A better fit can prevent injuries and the increased comfort also encourages passengers to buckle up. The Ferrari Luce doesn’t offer height-adjustable seat belts.

Using vehicle speed sensors and seat sensors, smart airbags in the Electrified GV70 deploy with different levels of force or don’t deploy at all to help better protect passengers of all sizes in different collisions. The Electrified GV70’s side airbags will shut off if a child is leaning against the door. The Luce’s side airbags don’t have smart features and will always deploy full force.

The Electrified GV70 has standard Anti-whiplash Front Head Restraints, which use a specially designed headrest to protect the driver and front passenger from whiplash. During a rear-end collision, the Anti-whiplash Front Head Restraints system moves the headrests forward to prevent neck and spine injuries. The Luce doesn’t offer a whiplash protection system.

In a Vehicle-to-Vehicle Frontal Crash Prevention 2.0 test conducted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), the Genesis Electrified GV70 achieved a “Acceptable” rating - the second highest possible - for its performance in forward collision warning and automatic braking systems, demonstrating its excellent capabilities in preventing collisions. The Ferrari Luce has not been tested.

Over 200 people are killed each year when backed over by motor vehicles. The Electrified GV70 Advanced/Prestige has a standard Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist Rear that uses rear sensors to monitor for objects to the rear and automatically applies the brakes to prevent a collision. The Luce doesn’t offer backup collision prevention brakes.

When descending a steep, off-road slope, the Electrified GV70’s standard Downhill Brake Control allow you to creep down safely. The Luce doesn’t offer Downhill Brake Control.

Both the Electrified GV70 and Luce have rear cross-traffic warning, but the Electrified GV70 has Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (automatically applies the brakes) to better prevent a collision when backing near traffic. The Luce’s Rear Cross Traffic Alert doesn’t automatically brake.

Both the Electrified GV70 and the Luce have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver knee airbags, front seat center airbag, side-impact head airbags, front and rear seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, all-wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning, driver alert monitors and available around view monitors.

The Genesis Electrified GV70 has achieved the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s (IIHS) highest rating of “Top Safety Pick Plus” for the 2026 model year. This distinction is based on its exceptional performance in IIHS’ rigorous battery of safety tests. Specifically, it earned a “Good” rating in the latest, more stringent moderate overlap front crash test, a “Good” result in the updated side impact test, a “Good” score in the revised pedestrian crash prevention test, and an “Acceptable” score in the revised vehicle-to-vehicle crash prevention test. The Luce has not yet been evaluated by the IIHS for 2026.

Warranty

The Electrified GV70 comes with a full 5-year/60,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire truck and includes free 24-hour roadside assistance. The Luce’s 3-year basic warranty expires 2 years sooner.

Genesis’ powertrain warranty covers the Electrified GV70 7 years longer than Ferrari covers the Luce. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 10 years or 100,000 miles. Coverage on the Luce ends after only 3 years.

The Electrified GV70’s corrosion warranty is 4 years longer than the Luce’s (7 vs. 3 years).

There are almost 5 times as many Genesis dealers as there are Ferrari dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Electrified GV70’s warranty.

Chassis

The Electrified GV70 is 1 foot shorter than the Luce, making the Electrified GV70 easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

Cargo Capacity

The Electrified GV70 has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat up than the Luce (28.7 vs. 21.1 cubic feet).

Towing

The Electrified GV70 has a 3500 lbs. towing capacity. The Luce has no towing capacity.

Ergonomics

The Electrified GV70 Prestige has a standard heads-up display that projects speed, navigation instruction and driver assistance information readouts in front of the driver’s line of sight, allowing drivers to view information without diverting their eyes from the road. The Luce doesn’t offer a heads-up display.

The Electrified GV70’s standard power window controls are mounted on the armrest for easy access. The Luce’s available power window controls are spread out on the center console where they can’t be seen without the driver completely removing his eyes from the road.

To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the Electrified GV70 has a standard rear wiper. The Luce doesn’t offer a rear wiper.

Manual rear side window sunshades are available in the Electrified GV70 to help block heat and glare for the rear passengers. The Luce doesn’t offer rear side window sunshades.

The Electrified GV70’s power mirror controls are mounted on the armrest for easy access. The Luce’s power mirror controls are on the dash where they are possibly hidden by the steering wheel and are awkward to manipulate.

The Electrified GV70 has a standard heated steering wheel to take the chill out of steering on extremely cold winter days before the vehicle heater warms up. A heated steering wheel costs extra on the Luce.

With standard voice command, the Electrified GV70 offers the driver hands free control of the radio, climate controls and the navigation computer by simply speaking. The Luce doesn’t offer a voice control system.

To quickly and conveniently keep personal devices charged without cables tangling and wearing out, the Genesis Electrified GV70 has a standard wireless phone charging system (Qi) in the front center console. The Luce doesn’t offer wireless personal charging.

The Electrified GV70 Prestige’s Smart Parking Assist can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, starting, stopping and changing direction automatically. Remote Smart Parking Assist will park and retrieve your car remotely: press a button and watch it park itself. This is ideal for tight locations. The Luce doesn’t offer an automated parking system.
