Compare the2027 Cadillac Optiq VS 2027 Genesis GV60

2027 Genesis GV602027 Cadillac Optiq

Safety

The Cadillac Optiq has standard driver and front passenger side knee airbags mounted low on the dashboard. These airbags help prevent the driver and front passenger from sliding under their seatbelts or the main frontal airbags; this keeps them better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. Knee airbags also help keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision. The GV60 doesn’t offer a front passenger side knee airbag.

The Cadillac Optiq’s rear backup camera has a standard washer for maintaining a clear view under various conditions. In contrast, the Genesis GV60 does not offer a rear camera washer, meaning its effectiveness relies on manual cleaning by the user when necessary.

Both the Optiq and the GV60 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver knee airbags, front seat center airbag, side-impact head airbags, front and rear seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning and driver alert monitors.

Warranty

There are almost 3 times as many Cadillac dealers as there are Genesis dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Optiq’s warranty.

Reliability

A reliable vehicle saves its owner time, money and trouble. Nobody wants to be stranded or have to be without a vehicle while it’s being repaired. Consumer Reports rates the Optiq’s reliability 14 points higher than the GV60.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2025 survey of the owners of three-year-old vehicles provides the long-term dependability statistics that show that Cadillac vehicles are more reliable than Genesis vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Cadillac above average in long-term dependability. With 44 more problems per 100 vehicles in the first three years of ownership, Genesis is rated below average.

From surveys of all its subscribers, Consumer Reports’ March 2026 Auto Issue reports that Cadillac vehicles are more reliable than Genesis vehicles. Consumer Reports ranks Cadillac 3 places higher in reliability than Genesis.

Brakes and Stopping

The Optiq’s standard front and rear disc brakes are vented to help dissipate heat for shorter stops with less fading. The rear discs standard on the GV60 are solid, not vented.

Tires and Wheels

For better traction, the Optiq has larger standard tires than the GV60 (245/50R20 vs. 235/55R19).

The Optiq’s standard tires provide better handling because they have a lower 50 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the GV60’s standard 55 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Optiq has standard 20-inch wheels. Smaller 19-inch wheels are standard on the GV60.

The Cadillac Optiq’s wheels have 6 lugs for longer wheel bearing life, less chance of rotor warping and greater strength. The Genesis GV60 only has 5 wheel lugs per wheel.

Having a flat tire is dangerous, inconvenient and expensive. The self-sealing tires standard on the Optiq can automatically seal most punctures up to 3/16 of an inch, effectively preventing most flat tires. The GV60 doesn’t offer self-sealing tires.

Suspension and Handling

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Optiq’s wheelbase is 1.8 inches longer than on the GV60 (116 inches vs. 114.2 inches).

Passenger Space

The Optiq has .6 inches more front headroom, .6 inches more rear headroom, .2 inches more rear legroom and .1 inches more rear shoulder room than the GV60.

Cargo Capacity

The Optiq has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat up than the GV60 with its rear seat up (26 vs. 24 cubic feet). The Optiq has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat folded than the GV60 with its rear seat folded (57 vs. 54.7 cubic feet).

Ergonomics

Unlike the driver-only memory system in the GV60 Prestige/Magma, the Optiq Premium/V-Series has a passenger memory, so that when drivers switch, the memory setting adjusts the driver’s seat and outside mirror angle and the front passenger seat also adjusts to the new passenger’s preset preferences.

The Optiq’s standard Keyless Access allows you to unlock the doors from any outside door handle, open the cargo door, and start the vehicle, all without removing the key from pocket or purse. Proximity Key standard on the GV60 doesn’t offer a sensor on the rear doors, so you’ll have to reach a front handle to unlock the rear doors.

To help drivers avoid possible obstacles, the Optiq Premium/V-Series has standard cornering lights to illuminate around corners when the turn signals are activated. The GV60 doesn’t offer cornering lights.

The Optiq has a standard heated steering wheel to take the chill out of steering on extremely cold winter days before the vehicle heater warms up. A heated steering wheel is only available on the GV60 AWD/Prestige/Magma.

The Optiq has standard massaging front seats in order to maximize comfort and eliminate fatigue on long trips. Massaging seats aren’t available in the GV60.

Recommendations

J.D. Power and Associates rated the Optiq third among midsize premium suvs in owner reported satisfaction. This includes how well the vehicle performs and satisfies its owner’s expectations. The GV60 isn’t in the top three in its category.

The Cadillac Optiq outsold the Genesis GV60 by almost seven to one during 2025.
