Compare the2027 BMW iX3 VS 2026 Cadillac Vistiq

The iX3’s pre-crash front seatbelts will tighten automatically in the event the vehicle detects an impending crash, improving protection against injury significantly. The Vistiq doesn’t offer pre-crash pretensioners.

The iX3 has a standard PostCrash iBrake, which automatically applies the brakes in the event of a crash to help prevent secondary collisions and prevent further injuries. The Vistiq doesn’t offer a post collision braking system: in the event of a collision that triggers the airbags, more collisions are possible without the protection of airbags that may have already deployed.

When descending a steep, off-road slope, the iX3’s standard Hill Descent Control allows you to creep down safely. The Vistiq doesn’t offer Hill Descent Control.

The BMW iX3’s optional Surround View is equipped with washers for its front and rear cameras, ensuring crystal-clear visibility in any weather condition. Conversely, the Cadillac Vistiq only offers a rear camera washer, which may not provide the same level of all-weather performance.

Both the iX3 and the Vistiq have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front and rear seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, all-wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning, driver alert monitors and available around view monitors.

The iX3’s corrosion warranty is 6 years longer than the Vistiq’s (12 vs. 6 years).

BMW pays for scheduled maintenance on the iX3 for 3 years and 36,000 miles. BMW will pay for tire rotations, cabin filter replacement, brake fluid replacement, inspections, and any other required maintenance. Cadillac only pays for the first scheduled maintenance visit on the Vistiq.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2025 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that BMW vehicles are better in initial quality than Cadillac vehicles. With 4 fewer problems per 100 vehicles, JD Power ranks BMW higher than Cadillac.

From surveys of all its subscribers, Consumer Reports’ March 2026 Auto Issue reports that BMW vehicles are more reliable than Cadillac vehicles. Consumer Reports ranks BMW 13 places higher in reliability than Cadillac.

The iX3 has a standard locking charge port, which locks and unlocks with the power locks. The Vistiq doesn’t have a locking charge port. A locking charge port prevents tampering and damage.

The BMW iX3 may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 1150 pounds less than the Cadillac Vistiq.

The iX3 is 1 foot, 5.3 inches shorter than the Vistiq, making the iX3 easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The design of the BMW iX3 amounts to more than styling. The iX3 has an aerodynamic coefficient of drag of .24 Cd. That is significantly lower than the Vistiq (.29) and many sports cars. A more efficient exterior helps keep the interior quieter and helps the iX3 get better fuel mileage.

The iX3 has a much larger cargo volume than the Vistiq with its rear seat up (31.4 vs. 15.2 cubic feet).

A standard locking glovebox keeps your small valuables safer in the iX3. The Vistiq doesn’t offer locking storage for small valuables.

Heated windshield washer nozzles are standard on the iX3 to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. The Vistiq doesn’t offer heated windshield washer nozzles.

The iX3’s optional Parking Assistant Plus can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, starting, stopping and changing direction automatically. Optional Remote Control Parking will park and retrieve your car remotely: press a button and watch it park itself. This is ideal for tight locations. The Vistiq’s automatic parking system does not offer parking by remote control.
