The Amalfi’s standard lane departure warning system alerts a temporarily inattentive driver when the vehicle begins to leave its lane. A lane departure warning system costs extra on the GranCabrio.

The Amalfi has a standard blind spot warning system that uses sensors to alert the driver to objects in the vehicle’s blind spots where the side view mirrors don’t reveal them. A system to reveal vehicles in the GranCabrio’s blind spot costs extra.

To help make backing out of a parking space safer, the Amalfi has standard rear cross-path warning, helping the driver avoid collisions. Maserati charges extra for Rear Cross Path on the GranCabrio.

Both the Amalfi and the GranCabrio have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights and rearview cameras.

The Amalfi comes with a full 3-year/unlimited-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire car and includes free 24-hour roadside assistance. The GranCabrio’s 50,000-mile basic warranty expires sooner.

The Amalfi’s corrosion warranty is unlimited miles longer than the GranCabrio’s (unlimited vs. 50,000 miles).

Ferrari pays for scheduled maintenance on the Amalfi for 7 years and unlimited miles. Ferrari will pay for oil changes, air filter replacements, cabin filter replacement, brake fluid replacement, inspections, and any other required maintenance. Maserati doesn’t pay scheduled maintenance for the GranCabrio.

The Amalfi’s 3.9 turbo V8 produces 148 more horsepower (631 vs. 483) and 119 lbs.-ft. more torque (561 vs. 442) than the GranCabrio’s standard 3.0 turbo V6. The Amalfi’s 3.9 turbo V8 produces 89 more horsepower (631 vs. 542) and 82 lbs.-ft. more torque (561 vs. 479) than the GranCabrio’s optional 3.0 turbo V6.

The Amalfi has 2.6 gallons more fuel capacity than the GranCabrio (21.1 vs. 18.5 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

The Amalfi offers a standard sequential manual gearbox (SMG). With no clutch pedal to worry about and a fully automatic mode, an SMG is much more efficient than a conventional automatic but just as easy to drive. The GranCabrio doesn’t offer an SMG or a conventional manual transmission.

For better stopping power the Amalfi’s brake rotors are larger than those on the GranCabrio:

The Amalfi has standard heat-treated ceramic brake rotors, which last ten to twenty times as long as conventional cast iron rotors, don’t rust, don’t fade during repeated high speed braking, and their lighter weight contribute to better braking, handling and acceleration. The GranCabrio doesn’t offer ceramic brake rotors.

For better maneuverability, the Amalfi’s turning circle is 4 feet tighter than the GranCabrio’s (36.7 feet vs. 40.7 feet).

The Ferrari Amalfi may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 1100 to 1450 pounds less than the Maserati GranCabrio.

The Amalfi is 11.7 inches shorter than the GranCabrio, making the Amalfi easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The Amalfi’s standard rear seats fold to accommodate long and bulky cargo. The GranCabrio doesn’t offer folding rear seats.

If the windows are left open on the Amalfi the driver can close all of them from a distance using the remote. On a hot day the driver can also lower the windows the same way. The driver of the GranCabrio can only operate the windows from inside the vehicle, with the ignition on.

The Amalfi has a standard heated steering wheel to take the chill out of steering on extremely cold winter days before the car heater warms up. A heated steering wheel costs extra on the GranCabrio.

The Ferrari Amalfi comes in coupe and convertible bodystyles; the Maserati GranCabrio isn’t available as a coupe.
