Compare the2027 GMC Terrain VS 2025 Cadillac XT4

The Cadillac XT4 has not been tested.

There are almost 3 times as many GMC dealers as there are Cadillac dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Terrain’s warranty.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2025 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that GMC vehicles are better in initial quality than Cadillac vehicles. With 1 fewer problem per 100 vehicles, JD Power ranks GMC higher than Cadillac.

On the EPA test cycle the Terrain AWD gets better fuel mileage than the XT4 AWD (24 city/28 hwy vs. 23 city/28 hwy).

To lower fuel costs and make buying fuel easier, the GMC Terrain uses regular unleaded gasoline. The XT4 requires premium for maximum efficiency, which can cost on average about 84.9 cents more per gallon.

The Terrain has 1.2 inches more front headroom, .8 inches more front hip room, .7 inches more front shoulder room, .9 inches more rear headroom, .2 inches more rear legroom, 1.2 inches more rear hip room and .6 inches more rear shoulder room than the XT4.

The Terrain has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat up than the XT4 with its rear seat up (29.8 vs. 22.5 cubic feet). The Terrain has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat folded than the XT4 with its rear seat folded (63.5 vs. 48.9 cubic feet).

The Terrain has a standard heated steering wheel to take the chill out of steering on extremely cold winter days before the vehicle heater warms up. A heated steering wheel costs extra on the XT4.

The GMC Terrain outsold the Cadillac XT4 by almost seven to one during 2025.
