2026 Ferrari Roma
2026 McLaren 750S

Safety

The Roma has standard GPS Response System, which uses a global positioning satellite (GPS) receiver and a cellular system to send emergency personnel to the scene if any airbags deploy. The 750S doesn’t offer a GPS response system, only a navigation computer with no live response for emergencies, so if you’re involved in an accident and you’re incapacitated help may not come as quickly.

Both the Roma and the 750S have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights and rearview cameras.

The Ferrari Roma weighs 441 to 549 pounds more than the McLaren 750S. The NHTSA advises that heavier cars are much safer in collisions than their significantly lighter counterparts. Crosswinds also affect lighter cars more.

Warranty

Ferrari pays for scheduled maintenance on the Roma for 4 years and unlimited miles longer than McLaren pays for maintenance for the 750S (7/unlimited vs. 3/unlimited).

Reliability

The 750S’ redline is at 8500 RPM, which causes more engine wear, and a greater chance of a catastrophic engine failure. The Roma has a 7500 RPM redline.

Fuel Economy and Range

On the EPA test cycle the Roma gets better fuel mileage than the 750S (17 city/22 hwy vs. 15 city/19 hwy).

The Roma has 2.1 gallons more fuel capacity than the 750S (21.1 vs. 19 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

Transmission

An eight-speed automatic (SMG) is standard on the Ferrari Roma, for better acceleration and lower engine speed on the highway. Only a seven-speed automatic is available for the 750S.

Tires and Wheels

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Roma has standard 20-inch wheels. Only 19-inch front wheels are available on the 750S.

Suspension and Handling

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the Roma is 2 inches wider in the rear than on the 750S.

For better maneuverability, the Roma’s turning circle is 5.3 feet tighter than the 750S’ (35.4 feet vs. 40.7 feet).

Passenger Space

The Roma has standard seating for 4 passengers; the 750S can only carry 2.

The Roma has 31 cubic feet more passenger volume than the 750S (78 vs. 47).

Ergonomics

The Roma’s standard easy entry system raises the steering wheel, making it easier for the driver to get in and out. An easy entry system costs extra on the 750S.

The Roma’s instruments include an oil pressure gauge and a temperature gauge - which could save your engine! Often ‘idiot lights’ don’t warn you until damage has been done. The 750S does not have an oil pressure gauge.

The Roma’s standard Keyless Entry and Ignition allows you to unlock the doors from either outside door handle, open the trunk, and start the engine, all without removing the key from pocket or purse. Keyless Entry and Start standard on the 750S doesn’t offer a sensor on the trunk.

The Roma’s power window, power lock, power mirror and cruise control switches are lit from behind, making them plainly visible and easier to operate at night. The 750S’ power mirror and cruise control switches are unlit, making them difficult to find at night and operate safely.

While driving with high beams on, sensitive light sensors available for the Roma detect other vehicles which could be blinded and automatically switch to low beams. The 750S doesn’t offer automatic dimming high beams.

The Roma’s standard rear and side view mirrors have an automatic dimming feature. These mirrors can be set to automatically darken quickly when headlights shine on them, keeping following vehicles from blinding or distracting the driver. The 750S has an automatic rear view mirror, but its side mirrors don’t dim.

The Roma is equipped with both FM and AM stereo radios, offering access too more content and better coverage than the 750S, which solely provides FM radio. With AM radio, you can enjoy a wider variety of stations featuring news, talk shows, sports commentary, native language programing, automated traffic guidance, and emergency broadcasts. AM waves travel further and penetrate buildings and obstacles more effectively than FM signals, especially at night. Having both FM and AM stereo radios the Roma offers a more comprehensive listening experience compared to only FM in the 750S.

HD Radio boasts several benefits over conventional radio: superior sound quality with clearer and consistent FM broadcasts, CD-quality audio, and Multicast Channels offering up to four streams from a single station, adding programming choices. Cars like the Roma equipped with available HD Radio provide an improved in-car entertainment experience. The 750S, devoid of this technology, foregoes these benefits. Selecting the Ferrari Roma empowers drivers to enjoy a more immersive and enjoyable listening experience while on the go.
