Both the Roma and the DB12 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights and rearview cameras.

Ferrari pays for scheduled maintenance on the Roma for 7 years and unlimited miles. Ferrari will pay for oil changes, air filter replacements, cabin filter replacement, brake fluid replacement, inspections, and any other required maintenance. Aston Martin doesn’t pay scheduled maintenance for the DB12.

On the EPA test cycle the Roma gets better fuel mileage than the DB12 4.0 turbo V8 (17 city/22 hwy vs. 15 city/22 hwy).

The Roma has a standard cap-less fueling system. The fuel filler is automatically opened when the fuel nozzle is inserted and automatically closed when it’s removed. This eliminates the need to unscrew and replace the cap and it reduces fuel evaporation, which causes pollution. The DB12 doesn’t offer a cap-less fueling system.

In its Green Vehicle Guide, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the Ferrari Roma higher (5 out of 10) than the Aston Martin DB12 (4). This means the Roma produces up to 5.2 pounds less smog-producing pollutants than the DB12 every 15,000 miles.

The Roma offers a standard sequential manual gearbox (SMG). With no clutch pedal to worry about and a fully automatic mode, an SMG is much more efficient than a conventional automatic but just as easy to drive. The DB12 doesn’t offer an SMG or a conventional manual transmission.

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the Roma is 1.1 inches wider in the rear than on the DB12.

For better maneuverability, the Roma’s turning circle is 5.3 feet tighter than the DB12’s (35.4 feet vs. 40.7 feet).

The Ferrari Roma may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 350 to 550 pounds less than the Aston Martin DB12.

A standard locking glovebox (which can’t be accessed with the valet key) keeps your small valuables safer in the Roma. The DB12 doesn’t offer locking storage for small valuables.

The Roma’s instruments include an oil pressure gauge and a temperature gauge - which could save your engine! Often ‘idiot lights’ don’t warn you until damage has been done. The DB12 does not have an oil pressure gauge.

The Roma’s standard rear and side view mirrors have an automatic dimming feature. These mirrors can be set to automatically darken quickly when headlights shine on them, keeping following vehicles from blinding or distracting the driver. The DB12 has an automatic rear view mirror, but its side mirrors don’t dim.
