The EX60’s pre-crash front seatbelts will tighten automatically in the event the vehicle detects an impending crash, improving protection against injury significantly. The Wagoneer S doesn’t offer pre-crash pretensioners.

The Volvo EX60’s standard multi-adaptive safety belts scans passenger size, crash angle, speed, and severity and adjusts load-limiters to 11 different settings to prevent head injuries in larger adults, and rib injuries in smaller passengers and less severe crashes. The system even performs over-the-air updates to improve its performance over time. The Wagoneer S only uses fixed-force load-limiters.

The Volvo EX60 offers optional built in child booster seats. They’re more crash worthy than an added child seat because of their direct attachment to the seat. Jeep doesn’t offer the convenience and security of a built-in child booster seat in the Wagoneer S. Their owners must carry a heavy booster seat in and out of the vehicle; EX60 owners can just fold their built-in child seat up or down.

The Volvo EX60 has standard driver and front passenger side knee airbags mounted low on the dashboard. These airbags help prevent the driver and front passenger from sliding under their seatbelts or the main frontal airbags; this keeps them better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. Knee airbags also help keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision. The Wagoneer S doesn’t offer a front passenger side knee airbag.

The EX60 has a standard front seat center airbag, which deploys between the driver and front passenger, protecting them from injuries caused by striking each other in serious side impacts. The Wagoneer S doesn’t offer front seat center airbags.

The EX60 has a standard Whiplash Protection System, which use a specially designed seat to protect the driver and front passenger from whiplash. During a rear-end collision, the Whiplash Protection System allows the backrest to travel backwards to cushion the occupants and the headrests move forward to prevent neck and spine injuries. The Wagoneer S doesn’t offer a whiplash protection system.

The EX60 has standard Post-impact braking, which automatically apply the brakes in the event of a crash to help prevent secondary collisions and prevent further injuries. The Wagoneer S doesn’t offer a post collision braking system: in the event of a collision that triggers the airbags, more collisions are possible without the protection of airbags that may have already deployed.

Earlier warning of stopped traffic, traffic signals, dangerous road conditions, weather, or accidents, can keep driver's safer and prevent crashes. The EX60 has Connected Safety, a system that seamlessly communicates important warnings to the driver about impending danger, if they're available. The Wagoneer S doesn’t offer a system that can receive automated systems from other vehicles.

Both the EX60 and Wagoneer S have rear cross-traffic warning, but the EX60 has Braking Intervention (automatically applies the brakes) to better prevent a collision when backing near traffic. The Wagoneer S’ Rear Cross Path Detection doesn’t automatically brake.

Both the EX60 and the Wagoneer S have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, around view monitors, rear cross-path warning and driver alert monitors.

The EX60 comes with a full 4-year/50,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire truck and includes 24-hour roadside assistance. The Wagoneer S’ 3-year/36,000-mile basic warranty expires 1 year or 14,000 miles sooner.

The EX60’s corrosion warranty is 7 years longer than the Wagoneer S’ (12 vs. 5 years).

Volvo pays for scheduled maintenance on the EX60 for 2 years and 20,000 miles. Volvo will pay for tire rotations, cabin filter replacement, brake fluid replacement, inspections, and any other required maintenance. Jeep doesn’t pay scheduled maintenance for the Wagoneer S.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2025 survey of the owners of three-year-old vehicles provides the long-term dependability statistics that show that Volvo vehicles are more reliable than Jeep With 33 fewer problems per 100 vehicles in the first three years of ownership, J.D. Power ranks Volvo higher than Jeep.

From surveys of all its subscribers, Consumer Reports’ March 2026 Auto Issue reports that Volvo vehicles are more reliable than Jeep vehicles. Consumer Reports ranks Volvo 9 places higher in reliability than Jeep.

The EX60 P12’s electric motors produces 70 more horsepower (670 vs. 600) than the Wagoneer S’ optional electric motors.

The design of the Volvo EX60 amounts to more than styling. The EX60 has an aerodynamic coefficient of drag of .26 Cd. That is lower than the Wagoneer S (.29) and many sports cars. A more efficient exterior helps keep the interior quieter and helps the EX60 get better fuel mileage.

The EX60 has 3 inches more front headroom, .4 inches more front legroom, .2 inches more front hip room and 3.2 inches more rear headroom than the Wagoneer S.
