Infiniti’s powertrain warranty covers the QX65 2 years and 20,000 miles longer than Land Rover covers the Range Rover Velar. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 6 years or 70,000 miles. Coverage on the Range Rover Velar ends after only 4 years or 50,000 miles.

The QX65’s corrosion warranty is 1 year longer than the Range Rover Velar’s (7 vs. 6 years).

Infiniti pays for scheduled maintenance on the QX65 for 3 years and 22500 miles. Infiniti will pay for oil changes, tire rotations, air filter replacements, cabin filter replacement, brake fluid replacement, inspections, and any other required maintenance. Land Rover doesn’t pay scheduled maintenance for the Range Rover Velar.

The QX65’s 2.0 turbo 4-cylinder produces 21 more horsepower (268 vs. 247) and 17 lbs.-ft. more torque (286 vs. 269) than the Range Rover Velar P250’s standard 2.0 turbo 4-cylinder.

On the EPA test cycle the QX65 gets better fuel mileage than the Range Rover Velar P400 (20 city/26 hwy vs. 19 city/25 hwy).

The QX65 has a standard cap-less fueling system. The fuel filler is automatically opened when the fuel nozzle is inserted and automatically closed when it’s removed. This eliminates the need to unscrew and replace the cap and it reduces fuel evaporation, which causes pollution. The Range Rover Velar doesn’t offer a cap-less fueling system.

A nine-speed automatic is standard on the Infiniti QX65, for better acceleration and lower engine speed on the highway. Only an eight-speed automatic is available for the Range Rover Velar.

The QX65’s standard tires provide better handling because they have a lower 50 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Range Rover Velar’s standard 55 series tires.
