Safety

The Porsche Cayenne has standard driver and front passenger side knee airbags mounted low on the dashboard. These airbags help prevent the driver and front passenger from sliding under their seatbelts or the main frontal airbags; this keeps them better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. Knee airbags also help keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision. The Urus doesn’t offer knee airbags.

The Cayenne has a standard Multi-collision Brake System, which automatically applies the brakes in the event of a crash to help prevent secondary collisions and prevent further injuries. The Urus doesn’t offer a post collision braking system: in the event of a collision that triggers the airbags, more collisions are possible without the protection of airbags that may have already deployed.

The Porsche Cayenne’s rear backup camera has a standard washer for maintaining a clear view under various conditions. In contrast, the Lamborghini Urus does not offer a rear camera washer, meaning its effectiveness relies on manual cleaning by the user when necessary.

Both the Cayenne and the Urus have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front and rear side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning, driver alert monitors and available night vision systems.

Warranty

The Cayenne comes with a full 4-year/50,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire truck and includes 24-hour roadside assistance. The Urus’ 3-year basic warranty expires 1 year sooner.

There are almost 5 times as many Porsche dealers as there are Lamborghini dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Cayenne’s warranty.

Reliability

J.D. Power and Associates rated the Cayenne third among upper midsize premium suvs in their 2025 Initial Quality Study. The Urus isn’t in the top three in its category.

Engine

The Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid’s standard 4.0 turbo V8 hybrid produces 110 lbs.-ft. more torque (700 vs. 590) than the Urus’ 4.0 turbo V8 hybrid.

Suspension and Handling

The Cayenne GTS handles at 1.05 G’s, while the Urus pulls only 1.01 G’s of cornering force in a Motor Trend skidpad test.

Chassis

The Porsche Cayenne may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs up to about 850 pounds less than the Lamborghini Urus.

The Cayenne is 7.6 inches shorter than the Urus, making the Cayenne easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The front grille of the Cayenne uses electronically controlled shutters to close off airflow and reduce drag when less engine cooling is needed. This helps improve highway fuel economy. The Urus doesn’t offer active grille shutters.

Passenger Space

The Cayenne has .2 inches more front shoulder room, 1 inch more rear headroom and .3 inches more rear legroom than the Urus.

To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the Cayenne has a standard rear wiper. The Urus doesn’t offer a rear wiper.

To better shield the driver and front passenger’s vision, the Cayenne has standard dual-element sun visors that can block glare from two directions simultaneously. The Urus doesn’t offer secondary sun visors.

Optional air conditioned front and rear seats keep the Cayenne’s passengers comfortable and take the sting out of hot leather in summer. The Urus doesn’t offer air-conditioned seats in the rear.

The Cayenne has a standard heated steering wheel to take the chill out of steering on extremely cold winter days before the vehicle heater warms up. A heated steering wheel costs extra on the Urus.
