Safety

The Rolls-Royce Cullinan has standard driver and front passenger side knee airbags mounted low on the dashboard. These airbags help prevent the driver and front passenger from sliding under their seatbelts or the main frontal airbags; this keeps them better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. Knee airbags also help keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision. The Purosangue doesn’t offer knee airbags.

The Cullinan has standard PostCrash, which automatically apply the brakes in the event of a crash to help prevent secondary collisions and prevent further injuries. The Purosangue doesn’t offer a post collision braking system: in the event of a collision that triggers the airbags, more collisions are possible without the protection of airbags that may have already deployed.

Over 200 people are killed each year when backed over by motor vehicles. The Cullinan has standard Active Park Distance Control that uses rear sensors to monitor for objects to the rear and automatically applies the brakes to prevent a collision. The Purosangue doesn’t offer backup collision prevention brakes.

A passive infrared night vision system optional on the Cullinan helps the driver to more easily detect people, animals or other objects in front of the vehicle at night. Using an infrared camera to detect heat, the system then displays the image on a monitor in the dashboard. The Purosangue doesn’t offer a night vision system.

Both the Cullinan and the Purosangue have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning and driver alert monitors.

The Rolls-Royce Cullinan weighs 1323 pounds more than the Ferrari Purosangue. The NHTSA advises that heavier vehicles are much safer in collisions than their significantly lighter counterparts.

Warranty

The Cullinan comes with a full 4-year/unlimited-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire truck and includes 24-hour roadside assistance. The Purosangue’s 3-year/unlimited-mile basic warranty expires 1 year sooner.

The Cullinan’s corrosion warranty is 1 year longer than the Purosangue’s (4 vs. 3 years).

Engine

The Cullinan’s standard 6.8 turbo V12 produces 99 lbs.-ft. more torque (627 vs. 528) than the Purosangue’s 6.5 DOHC V12. The Cullinan Black Badge’s standard 6.8 turbo V12 produces 136 lbs.-ft. more torque (664 vs. 528) than the Purosangue’s 6.5 DOHC V12.

Tires and Wheels

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Cullinan offers optional 23-inch wheels. The Purosangue’s largest wheels are only 22-inches in the front and 23-inches in the rear.

Suspension and Handling

The front and rear suspension of the Cullinan uses air springs for a smoother, controlled ride than the Purosangue, which uses coil springs. Air springs maintain proper ride height and ride more smoothly.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Cullinan’s wheelbase is 10.9 inches longer than on the Purosangue (129.7 inches vs. 118.8 inches).

Passenger Space

The Cullinan offers optional seating for 5 passengers; the Purosangue can only carry 4.

The Cullinan has 15 cubic feet more passenger volume than the Purosangue (112 vs. 97).

Cargo Capacity

The Cullinan has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat up than the Purosangue (19.8 vs. 16.7 cubic feet).

The Cullinan’s rear cargo window opens separately from the rest of the tailgate door to allow quicker loading of small packages. The Purosangue’s rear cargo window doesn’t open.

Ergonomics

The Cullinan has a standard remote vehicle starting system, so the vehicle can be started from inside the driver's house. This allows the driver to comfortably warm up the engine before going out to the vehicle. The climate system will also automatically heat or cool the interior. The Purosangue doesn’t offer a remote starting system.

Unlike the driver-only memory system in the Purosangue, the Cullinan has standard driver and passenger memory, so that when drivers switch, the memory setting adjusts the driver’s seat, steering wheel position, outside mirror angle, climate settings and radio stations and the front passenger seat also adjusts to the new passenger’s preset preferences.

The Cullinan’s standard power window controls are mounted on the armrest for easy access. The Purosangue’s available power window controls are spread out on the center console where they can’t be seen without the driver completely removing his eyes from the road.

Heated windshield washer nozzles are standard on the Cullinan to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. The Purosangue doesn’t offer heated windshield washer nozzles.

To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the Cullinan has a standard rear wiper. The Purosangue doesn’t offer a rear wiper.

The Cullinan has a standard heated steering wheel to take the chill out of steering on extremely cold winter days before the vehicle heater warms up. A heated steering wheel costs extra on the Purosangue.

The Rolls-Royce Cullinan has a standard Homelink wireless remote control system for garage door operation and device management, conveniently located on the rear view mirror. Homelink® eliminates the need for separate garage door openers and associated risks of losing, breaking, or having dead batteries. Ferrari charges extra for Homelink® on the Purosangue.

The Cullinan’s optional Automatic Parking Assistant can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, starting, stopping and changing direction automatically. The Purosangue doesn’t offer an automated parking system.

Recommendations

The Rolls-Royce Cullinan outsold the Ferrari Purosangue by over two to one during 2025.
