2026 Ferrari F80
2025 Bugatti Mistral

Safety

The F80 has standard Automatic Emergency Braking, which use forward mounted sensors to warn the driver of a possible collision ahead. If the driver doesn’t react and the system determines a collision is imminent, it automatically applies the brakes at full-force in order to reduce the force of the crash or avoid it altogether. The Mistral doesn't offer collision warning or crash mitigation brakes.

The F80’s lane departure warning system alerts a temporarily inattentive driver when the vehicle begins to leave its lane and gently nudges the vehicle back towards its lane. The Mistral doesn’t offer a lane departure warning system.

The F80’s driver alert monitor detects an inattentive driver then sounds a warning and suggests a break. According to the NHTSA, drivers who fall asleep cause about 100,000 crashes and 1500 deaths a year. The Mistral doesn’t offer a driver alert monitor.

The F80 offers optional GPS Response System, which uses a global positioning satellite (GPS) receiver and a cellular system to send emergency personnel to the scene if any airbags deploy. The Mistral doesn’t offer a GPS response system, only a navigation computer with no live response for emergencies, so if you’re involved in an accident and you’re incapacitated help may not come as quickly.

Both the F80 and the Mistral have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights and rearview cameras.

Fuel Economy and Range

On the EPA test cycle the F80 gets better fuel mileage than the Mistral (15 city/20 hwy vs. 8 city/12 hwy).

Regenerative brakes improve the F80’s fuel efficiency by converting inertia back into energy instead of wasting it. The Mistral doesn’t offer a regenerative braking system.

In heavy traffic or at stoplights the F80’s engine automatically turns off when the vehicle is stopped, saving fuel and reducing pollution. The engine is automatically restarted when the driver gets ready to move again. If the conditions warrant or the driver wishes, the system can be manually disabled at any time for the duration of a trip. The Mistral doesn’t offer an automatic engine start/stop system.

Environmental Friendliness

In its Green Vehicle Guide, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the Ferrari F80 higher (5 out of 10) than the Bugatti Mistral (1). This means the F80 produces up to 39 pounds less smog-producing pollutants than the Mistral every 15,000 miles.

Transmission

An eight-speed automatic (SMG) is standard on the Ferrari F80, for better acceleration and lower engine speed on the highway. Only a seven-speed automatic is available for the Mistral.

Suspension and Handling

The F80 offers an available active suspension system, which counteracts cornering forces actively, limiting body roll and improving handling and stability. Bugatti doesn’t offer an active suspension on the Mistral.

Ergonomics

The F80’s rain-sensitive wipers adjust their speed and turn on and off automatically based on the amount of rainfall on the windshield. This allows the driver to concentrate on driving without constantly adjusting the wipers. The Mistral’s

While driving with high beams on, sensitive light sensors standard on the F80 detect other vehicles which could be blinded and automatically switch to low beams. The Mistral doesn’t offer automatic dimming high beams.

To keep a safe, consistent following distance, the F80 has a standard Adaptive CruiseControl, which alters the speed of the vehicle without driver intervention. This allows the driver to use cruise control more safely without constantly having to disengage it when approaching slower traffic. The Mistral doesn’t offer an adaptive cruise control.

The F80’s standard steering wheel mounted cruise control is close at hand. The Mistral’s standard cruise control is on an over-crowded turn signal stalk.

Standard smartphone integration for the F80 allows the driver and passengers access to select programs on their smartphones so they can stay connected without taking their eyes off the road or their hands from the wheel. The Mistral doesn’t offer factory integrated smartphone program access.
