Safety
Warranty
The F-Pace comes with a full 5-year/60,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire truck and includes 24-hour roadside assistance. The RS Q8’s 4-year/50,000-mile basic warranty expires 1 year or 10,000 miles sooner.
Jaguar pays for scheduled maintenance on the F-Pace for 2 years and 30,000 miles longer than Audi pays for maintenance for the RS Q8 (5/60,000 vs. 3/30,000).
Reliability
To reliably start during all conditions and help handle large electrical loads, the F-Pace has a standard 800-amp battery. The RS Q8’s 380-amp battery isn’t as powerful.
The battery on the F-Pace is in the trunk, which protects it from hot underhood temperatures that can degrade battery life. By keeping the F-Pace’s battery 20 to 30 degrees cooler, its life is increased by years. The RS Q8’s battery is in the hot engine compartment.
J.D. Power and Associates’ 2025 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that Jaguar vehicles are better in initial quality than Audi vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Jaguar fourth in initial quality, above the industry average. With 94 more problems per 100 vehicles, Audi is ranked 30th, below the industry average.

Tires and Wheels
Having a flat tire is dangerous, inconvenient and expensive. The self-sealing tires available on the F-Pace can automatically seal most punctures up to 3/16 of an inch, effectively preventing most flat tires. The RS Q8 doesn’t offer self-sealing tires.
The F-Pace offers an optional full size spare tire so a flat doesn’t interrupt your trip. A full size spare isn’t available on the RS Q8; it requires you to depend on roadside assistance and your vehicle will have to be towed.
Chassis
The Jaguar F-Pace may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 950 to 1450 pounds less than the Audi RS Q8.
The F-Pace is 10.8 inches shorter than the RS Q8, making the F-Pace easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.
The design of the Jaguar F-Pace amounts to more than styling. The F-Pace has an aerodynamic coefficient of drag of .36 Cd. That is significantly lower than the RS Q8 (.4). A more efficient exterior helps keep the interior quieter and helps the F-Pace get better fuel mileage.
The F-Pace uses computer-generated active noise cancellation to help remove annoying noise and vibration from the passenger compartment, especially at low frequencies. The RS Q8 doesn’t offer active noise cancellation.
Passenger Space
The F-Pace has 2.6 inches more front headroom and .4 inches more rear headroom than the RS Q8.
Cargo Capacity
The F-Pace has a larger cargo volume with its rear seat folded than the RS Q8 with its rear seat folded (70.4 vs. 60 cubic feet).
A low lift-over cargo hatch design makes loading and unloading the F-Pace easier. The F-Pace’s cargo hatch lift-over height is 30.5 inches, while the RS Q8’s liftover is 33.7 inches.
Pulling a handle automatically lowers the F-Pace’s rear seats, to make changing between passengers and cargo easier. The RS Q8 doesn’t offer automatic folding seats.
Towing
Standard Trailer Stability Assist on the F-Pace uses the Dynamic Stability Control sensors to detect trailer sway, then uses individual brakes to counteract any swaying and help keep the tow vehicle and trailer steady. The RS Q8 doesn’t offer electronic trailer sway control.
Ergonomics
Unlike the driver-only memory system in the RS Q8, the F-Pace offers an optional passenger memory, so that when drivers switch, the memory setting adjusts the driver’s seat, steering wheel position and outside mirror angle and the front passenger seat also adjusts to the new passenger’s preset preferences.
To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the F-Pace has a standard rear fixed intermittent wiper with a full on position. The rear wiper standard on the RS Q8 only has an intermittent setting, so in a hard rain visibility isn’t as good.
Recommendations
J.D. Power and Associates rated the F-Pace third among compact premium suvs in owner reported satisfaction. This includes how well the vehicle performs and satisfies its owner’s expectations. The RS Q8 isn’t in the top three.
