Both the AMG GT 4-Door and the S7 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front and rear seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, rearview cameras, driver alert monitors and available lane departure warning systems.

There are over 25 percent more Mercedes dealers than there are Audi dealers, which makes it easier should you ever need service under the AMG GT 4-Door’s warranty.

The AMG GT 63 S E’s standard 4.0 turbo V8 hybrid produces 387 more horsepower (831 vs. 444) and 590 lbs.-ft. more torque (1032 vs. 442) than the S7’s 2.9 turbo V6 hybrid.

The AMG GT 63 S E can travel with zero emissions for 1 miles. The S7 can’t move without running its internal combustion engine.

An engine control system that can shut down some of the engine’s cylinders helps improve the AMG GT 4-Door 63/63 S’ fuel efficiency. The S7 doesn’t offer a system that can shut down part of the engine.

The AMG GT 4-Door’s standard fuel tank has 1.8 gallons more fuel capacity than the S7 (21.1 vs. 19.3 gallons).

A nine-speed automatic is available on the Mercedes AMG GT 4-Door, for better acceleration and lower engine speed on the highway. Only an eight-speed automatic is available for the S7.

The AMG GT 4-Door 63 offers optional heat-treated ceramic brake rotors, which last ten to twenty times as long as conventional cast iron rotors, don’t rust, don’t fade during repeated high speed braking, and their lighter weight contribute to better braking, handling and acceleration. The S7 doesn’t offer ceramic brake rotors.

For better traction, the AMG GT 4-Door’s optional tires are larger than the largest tires available on the S7 (F:275/35R21 & R:315/30R21 vs. 255/35R21).

The AMG GT 4-Door’s optional 315/30R21 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 30 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the S7’s 35 series tires.

The AMG GT 4-Door has a standard automatic load leveling suspension to keep ride height level with a heavy load or when towing. The S7 doesn’t offer a load leveling suspension.

The AMG GT 4-Door’s drift compensation steering can automatically compensate for road conditions, which would cause the vehicle to drift from side to side, helping the driver to keep the vehicle straight more easily. The S7 doesn’t offer drift compensation steering.

For better handling and stability, the average track (width between the wheels) on the AMG GT 4-Door is .7 inches wider in the front and 1.1 inches wider in the rear than the track on the S7.

The AMG GT 4-Door has 3.8 inches more front headroom, .4 inches more front legroom, .6 inches more front shoulder room, 1.1 inches more rear headroom and 1.3 inches more rear shoulder room than the S7.

The AMG GT 4-Door’s power window, power lock, power mirror and cruise control switches are lit from behind, making them plainly visible and easier to operate at night. The S7’s cruise control switches are unlit, making them difficult to find at night and operate safely.

Heated windshield washer fluid is standard on the AMG GT 4-Door to defrost the washer nozzles and quickly clear ice and frost from the windshield without scraping. The S7 doesn’t offer heated windshield washer fluid. Its standard heated washer nozzles will defrost the washer fluid but not the windshield.

The S7’s cornering lamps activate a lamp on the front corner when the turn signal is activated. The AMG GT 4-Door’s standard adaptive cornering lights turn the actual headlight unit up to several degrees, depending on steering wheel angle and vehicle speed. This lights a significant distance into corners at any speed.

A manual rear sunshade is optional in the AMG GT 4-Door to help block heat and glare for the rear passengers. The S7 doesn’t offer a rear sunshade.

To quickly and conveniently keep personal devices charged without cables tangling and wearing out, the Mercedes AMG GT 4-Door has a standard wireless phone charging system (Qi) in the center console. Wireless charging costs extra on the S7. The AMG GT 4-Door also offers Qi charging in the rear seat. The S7 doesn’t offer wireless charging in its rear seat.

The AMG GT 4-Door offers an optional 115-volt a/c outlet on the center console, allowing you to recharge a laptop or run small household appliances without special adapters that can break or get misplaced. The S7 doesn’t offer a house-current electrical outlet.
