Safety

The MCPura offers an optional Surround View System to allow the driver to see objects all around the vehicle on a screen. The 12Cilindri only offers a rear monitor.

To help make backing out of a parking space safer, the MCPura’s standard Rear Cross Path uses sensors in the rear to alert the driver to vehicles approaching from the side, helping the driver avoid collisions. The 12Cilindri doesn’t offer a rear cross-path warning system.

Both the MCPura and the 12Cilindri have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras and available crash mitigating brakes.

Warranty

The MCPura comes with a full 4-year/50,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire car and includes free 24-hour roadside assistance. The 12Cilindri’s 3-year basic warranty expires 1 year sooner.

The MCPura’s corrosion warranty is 1 year longer than the 12Cilindri’s (4 vs. 3 years).

There are over 2 times as many Maserati dealers as there are Ferrari dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the MCPura’s warranty.

Reliability

The 12Cilindri’s redline is at 9500 RPM, which causes more engine wear, and a greater chance of a catastrophic engine failure. The MCPura has a 8000 RPM redline.

Engine

The MCPura’s standard 3.0 turbo V6 produces 38 lbs.-ft. more torque (538 vs. 500) than the 12Cilindri’s 6.5 DOHC V12. The MCPura GT2 Stradale’s standard 3.0 turbo V6 produces 38 lbs.-ft. more torque (538 vs. 500) than the 12Cilindri’s 6.5 DOHC V12.

Fuel Economy and Range

On the EPA test cycle the MCPura 3.0 turbo V6 gets better fuel mileage than the 12Cilindri Coupe (15 city/25 hwy vs. 12 city/19 hwy).

On the EPA test cycle the MCPura 3.0 turbo V6 gets better fuel mileage than the 12Cilindri Spider (15 city/25 hwy vs. 12 city/17 hwy).

The MCPura has a standard cap-less fueling system. The fuel filler is automatically opened when the fuel nozzle is inserted and automatically closed when it’s removed. This eliminates the need to unscrew and replace the cap and it reduces fuel evaporation, which causes pollution. The 12Cilindri doesn’t offer a cap-less fueling system.

Tires and Wheels

The MCPura’s 305/30R20 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 30 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the 12Cilindri’s 35 series tires.

Chassis

The Maserati MCPura may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 450 to 650 pounds less than the Ferrari 12Cilindri.

Ergonomics

The MCPura has a standard remote vehicle starting system, so the vehicle can be started from inside the driver's house. This allows the driver to comfortably warm up the engine before going out to the vehicle. The climate system will also automatically heat or cool the interior. The 12Cilindri doesn’t offer a remote starting system.
