Safety

For enhanced safety, the front and rear seat shoulder belts of the Lamborghini Urus have pretensioners to tighten the seatbelts and eliminate dangerous slack in the event of a collision and force limiters to limit the pressure the belts will exert on the passengers. The Porsche Cayenne Coupe doesn’t offer pretensioners for its rear seat belts.

Both the Urus and the Cayenne Coupe have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front and rear side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning, driver alert monitors, available night vision systems and around view monitors.

Warranty

The Urus comes with a full 3-year/unlimited-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire truck and includes free 24-hour roadside assistance. The Cayenne Coupe’s 50,000-mile basic warranty expires sooner.

Lamborghini pays for scheduled maintenance (up to 5 visits) on the Urus for 4 years and 65000 miles longer than Porsche pays for maintenance for the Cayenne Coupe (5/75000 vs. 1/10,000).

Engine

The Urus’ 4.0 turbo V8 hybrid produces 441 more horsepower (789 vs. 348) and 222 lbs.-ft. more torque (590 vs. 368) than the Cayenne Coupe’s standard 3.0 turbo V6. The Urus’ 4.0 turbo V8 hybrid produces 326 more horsepower (789 vs. 463) and 111 lbs.-ft. more torque (590 vs. 479) than the Cayenne E-Hybrid Coupe’s standard 3.0 turbo V6 hybrid. The Urus’ 4.0 turbo V8 hybrid produces 321 more horsepower (789 vs. 468) and 148 lbs.-ft. more torque (590 vs. 442) than the Cayenne S Coupe’s standard 4.0 turbo V8. The Urus’ 4.0 turbo V8 hybrid produces 60 more horsepower (789 vs. 729) than the Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid Coupe’s standard 4.0 turbo V8 hybrid.

Fuel Economy and Range

On the EPA test cycle the Urus SE running on electricity gets better mileage than the Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid Coupe running on electricity (46 city/50 hwy vs. 46 city/48 hwy MPGe).

On the EPA test cycle the Urus running its gasoline engine gets better mileage than the Cayenne Coupe running its gasoline engine:

Tires and Wheels

For better traction, the Urus has larger standard tires than the Cayenne Coupe (F:285/45R21 & R:315/40R21 vs. F:255/55R20 & R:295/45R20).

The Urus’ standard 285/45R21 front and 315/40R21 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 45 series front and 40 series rear profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Cayenne Coupe’s standard 55 series front and 45 series rear tires. The Urus’ optional 285/35R23 front and 325/30R23 rear tires have a lower 35 series front and 30 series rear profile than the Cayenne Coupe’s optional 40 series front and 35 series rear tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Urus has standard 21-inch wheels. Smaller 20-inch wheels are standard on the Cayenne Coupe. The Urus’ optional 23-inch wheels are larger than the 22-inch wheels optional on the Cayenne Coupe.

Suspension and Handling

The front and rear suspension of the Urus uses air springs for a smoother, controlled ride than the Cayenne Coupe, which uses coil springs. Air springs maintain proper ride height and ride more smoothly.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Urus’ wheelbase is 4.2 inches longer than on the Cayenne Coupe (118.2 inches vs. 114 inches).

The Urus’ front to rear weight distribution is more even (54% to 46%) than the Cayenne Coupe’s (56.8% to 43.2%). This gives the Urus more stable handling and braking.

The Urus Performante handles at 1.04 G’s, while the Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid Coupe pulls only .98 G’s of cornering force in a Car and Driver skidpad test.

For greater off-road capability the Urus has a 1.6 inches greater minimum ground clearance than the Cayenne E-Hybrid Coupe (9.8 vs. 8.2 inches), allowing the Urus to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged. The Urus’ minimum ground clearance is .3 inch higher than on the Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid Coupe (9.8 vs. 9.5 inches).

Passenger Space

The Urus has 2.7 inches more front headroom and .5 inches more front legroom than the Cayenne Coupe.

Cargo Capacity

The Urus has a larger cargo volume with its rear seat up than the Cayenne Coupe with its rear seat up (21.8 vs. 20.9 cubic feet). The Urus has a larger cargo volume with its rear seat folded than the Cayenne Coupe with its rear seat folded (56.4 vs. 53 cubic feet).

Ergonomics

If the windows are left open on the Urus the driver can close all of them at the outside door handle or from a distance using the remote. On a hot day the driver can lower the windows from a distance using the keyless remote. The driver of the Cayenne Coupe can only operate the windows from inside the vehicle, with the ignition on.

The Urus’ power window, power lock, power mirror and cruise control switches are lit from behind, making them plainly visible and easier to operate at night. The Cayenne Coupe’s cruise control switches are unlit, making them difficult to find at night and operate safely.
