Both the Urus and AMG GLE have child safety locks to prevent children from opening the rear doors. The Urus has power child safety locks, allowing the driver to activate and deactivate them from the driver's seat and to know when they're engaged. The AMG GLE’s child locks have to be individually engaged at each rear door with a manual switch. The driver can’t know the status of the locks without opening the doors and checking them.

An active infrared night vision system optional on the Urus helps the driver to more easily detect people, animals or other objects in front of the vehicle at night. Using an infrared camera and near-infrared lights to detect heat, the system then displays the image on a monitor in the dashboard. The AMG GLE doesn’t offer a night vision system.

The Urus’ standard lane departure warning system alerts a temporarily inattentive driver when the vehicle begins to leave its lane. A lane departure warning system costs extra on the AMG GLE.

Both the Urus and the AMG GLE have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front and rear seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning, driver alert monitors and available around view monitors.

The Urus comes with a full 3-year/unlimited-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire truck and includes free 24-hour roadside assistance. The AMG GLE’s 50,000-mile basic warranty expires sooner.

The Urus’ corrosion warranty is 7 years longer than the AMG GLE’s (12 vs. 5 years).

Lamborghini pays for scheduled maintenance on the Urus for 5 years and 75000 miles. Lamborghini will pay for oil changes, air filter replacements, cabin filter replacement, brake fluid replacement, inspections, and any other required maintenance (up to 5 visits). Mercedes doesn’t pay scheduled maintenance for the AMG GLE.

The Urus’ 4.0 turbo V8 hybrid produces 360 more horsepower (789 vs. 429) and 177 lbs.-ft. more torque (590 vs. 413) than the AMG GLE 53’s standard 3.0 turbo 6-cylinder hybrid. For better traction, the Urus has larger standard tires than the AMG GLE (F:285/45R21 & R:315/40R21 vs. 275/50R20).

The Urus’ standard 285/45R21 front and 315/40R21 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 45 series front and 40 series rear profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the AMG GLE’s standard 50 series tires. The Urus’ optional 285/35R23 front and 325/30R23 rear tires have a lower 35 series front and 30 series rear profile than the AMG GLE’s optional 40 series front and 35 series rear tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Urus has standard 21-inch wheels. Smaller 20-inch wheels are standard on the AMG GLE. The Urus’ optional 23-inch wheels are larger than the 22-inch wheels optional on the AMG GLE.

Remote Park Assist will park and retrieve your car remotely: press a button and watch it park itself. This is ideal for tight locations. The AMG GLE’s automatic parking system does not offer parking by remote control.
