For enhanced safety, the front and rear seat shoulder belts of the Lamborghini Urus have pretensioners to tighten the seatbelts and eliminate dangerous slack in the event of a collision and force limiters to limit the pressure the belts will exert on the passengers. The Jaguar F-Pace doesn’t offer pretensioners for its rear seat belts.

For enhanced safety, the front seat shoulder belts of the Lamborghini Urus are height-adjustable to accommodate a wide variety of driver and passenger heights. A better fit can prevent injuries and the increased comfort also encourages passengers to buckle up. The Jaguar F-Pace doesn’t offer height-adjustable seat belts.

Over 200 people are killed each year when backed over by motor vehicles. The Urus has standard Precognition Rear that uses rear sensors to monitor for objects to the rear and automatically applies the brakes to prevent a collision. The F-Pace doesn’t offer automatic braking for stationary objects directly to the rear.

An active infrared night vision system optional on the Urus helps the driver to more easily detect people, animals or other objects in front of the vehicle at night. Using an infrared camera and near-infrared lights to detect heat, the system then displays the image on a monitor in the dashboard. The F-Pace doesn’t offer a night vision system.

Both the Urus and the F-Pace have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning, driver alert monitors and available around view monitors.

The Lamborghini Urus weighs 988 to 1508 pounds more than the Jaguar F-Pace. The NHTSA advises that heavier vehicles are much safer in collisions than their significantly lighter counterparts.

Warranty

The Urus comes with a full 3-year/unlimited-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire truck and includes free 24-hour roadside assistance. The F-Pace’s 60,000-mile basic warranty expires sooner.

The Urus’ corrosion warranty is 6 years longer than the F-Pace’s (12 vs. 6 years).

Engine

The Urus’ 4.0 turbo V8 hybrid produces 543 more horsepower (789 vs. 246) and 321 lbs.-ft. more torque (590 vs. 269) than the F-Pace P250’s standard 2.0 turbo 4-cylinder. The Urus’ 4.0 turbo V8 hybrid produces 394 more horsepower (789 vs. 395) and 184 lbs.-ft. more torque (590 vs. 406) than the F-Pace P400’s standard 3.0 turbo/supercharged 6-cylinder hybrid. The Urus’ 4.0 turbo V8 hybrid produces 222 more horsepower (789 vs. 567) and 74 lbs.-ft. more torque (590 vs. 516) than the F-Pace SVR’s standard 5.0 supercharged V8.

Fuel Economy and Range

On the EPA test cycle the Urus running on electricity gets better mileage than the F-Pace:

On the EPA test cycle the Urus SE running its gasoline engine gets better fuel mileage than the F-Pace SVR (19 city/21 hwy vs. 15 city/21 hwy).

The Urus SE can travel with zero emissions for 35 miles. The F-Pace can’t move without running its internal combustion engine.

The Urus has a standard locking fuel door and a locking charge port with a power remote release convenient to the driver and which locks and unlocks with the power locks, respectively. The F-Pace doesn’t offer a locking fuel filler door. A locking fuel door helps prevent fuel theft and vandalism, such as sugar in the tank and a locking charge port prevents tampering and damage.

Brakes and Stopping

For better stopping power the Urus’ brake rotors are larger than those on the F-Pace:

The Urus has standard heat-treated ceramic brake rotors, which last ten to twenty times as long as conventional cast iron rotors, don’t rust, don’t fade during repeated high speed braking, and their lighter weight contribute to better braking, handling and acceleration. The F-Pace doesn’t offer ceramic brake rotors.

Tires and Wheels

For better traction, the Urus has larger standard tires than the F-Pace (F:285/45R21 & R:315/40R21 vs. 255/55R19). The Urus’ optional tires are larger than the largest tires available on the F-Pace (F:285/35R23 & R:325/30R23 vs. F:265/45R21 & R:295/40R21).

The Urus’ standard 285/45R21 front and 315/40R21 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 45 series front and 40 series rear profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the F-Pace’s standard 55 series tires. The Urus’ optional 285/35R23 front and 325/30R23 rear tires have a lower 35 series front and 30 series rear profile than the F-Pace SVR’s optional 40 series front and 35 series rear tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Urus has standard 21-inch wheels. Smaller 19-inch wheels are standard on the F-Pace. The Urus’ optional 23-inch wheels are larger than the 22-inch wheels optional on the F-Pace.

Suspension and Handling

The Urus has active sway bars, which help keep it flat and controlled during cornering, but disconnect at lower speeds to smooth the ride and offer greater off-road suspension articulation. This helps keep the tires glued to the road on-road and off. The F-Pace doesn’t offer an active sway bar system.

The front and rear suspension of the Urus uses air springs for a smoother, controlled ride than the F-Pace, which uses coil springs. Air springs maintain proper ride height and ride more smoothly.

The Urus S/SE offers an available adjustable active suspension system, which counteracts cornering forces actively, limiting body roll and improving handling and stability. Jaguar doesn’t offer an active suspension on the F-Pace.

The Urus has a standard automatic front and rear load leveling suspension to keep ride height level with a heavy load or when towing. The Urus’ height leveling suspension allows the driver to raise ride height for better off-road clearance and then lower it again for easier entering and exiting and better on-road handling. The F-Pace doesn’t offer a load leveling suspension.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Urus’ wheelbase is 5.1 inches longer than on the F-Pace (118.2 inches vs. 113.1 inches).

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the Urus is 2 inches wider in the front and 2.1 inches wider in the rear than the average track on the F-Pace.

The Urus Performante handles at 1.04 G’s, while the F-Pace pulls only .85 G’s of cornering force in a Car and Driver skidpad test.

The Urus Performante executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver 3.7 seconds quicker than the F-Pace (23.1 seconds @ .87 average G’s vs. 26.8 seconds @ .67 average G’s).

For better maneuverability, the Urus’ turning circle is .5 feet tighter than the F-Pace’s (38.7 feet vs. 39.2 feet). The Urus’ turning circle is .7 feet tighter than the F-Pace SVR’s (38.7 feet vs. 39.4 feet).

For greater off-road capability the Urus has a 1.4 inches greater minimum ground clearance than the F-Pace (9.8 vs. 8.4 inches), allowing the Urus to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged. The Urus’ minimum ground clearance is 1.2 inches higher than on the F-Pace SVR (9.8 vs. 8.6 inches).

Passenger Space

The Urus has 9 cubic feet more passenger volume than the F-Pace (105 vs. 96).

The Urus has 1.2 inches more front headroom, 1.3 inches more front legroom, 1.2 inches more front shoulder room, 2.8 inches more rear legroom and .7 inches more rear shoulder room than the F-Pace.

For enhanced passenger comfort on long trips the Urus’ rear seats recline. The F-Pace’s rear seats don’t recline.

The front step up height for the Urus is 2.3 inches lower than the F-Pace (16.9” vs. 19.2”). The Urus’ rear step up height is 2.3 inches lower than the F-Pace’s (17.5” vs. 19.8”).

Cargo Capacity

The Urus’ cargo area is larger than the F-Pace’s in almost every dimension:

To make loading groceries and cargo easier when your hands are full, the Urus’ available liftgate can be opened just by kicking your foot under the back bumper, leaving your hands completely free. The F-Pace doesn’t offer a hands-free gesture to open its liftgate, forcing you to put cargo down if your hands are full.

Towing

The Urus’ standard towing capacity is much higher than the F-Pace’s (7716 vs. 5291 pounds).

Ergonomics

The Urus’ instruments include an oil pressure gauge and a temperature gauge - which could save your engine! Often ‘idiot lights’ don’t warn you until damage has been done. The F-Pace does not have an oil pressure gauge.

The Urus’ power window, power lock, power mirror and cruise control switches are lit from behind, making them plainly visible and easier to operate at night. The F-Pace’s power mirror switches are unlit, making them difficult to find at night and operate safely.

To help drivers see further while navigating curves, the Urus has standard adaptive headlights to illuminate around corners automatically by reading vehicle speed and steering wheel angle. The F-Pace doesn’t offer cornering lights.

Manual rear side window sunshades are available in the Urus to help block heat and glare for the rear passengers. The F-Pace doesn’t offer rear side window sunshades.

The Urus offers optional massaging front seats in order to maximize comfort and eliminate fatigue on long trips. Massaging seats aren’t available in the F-Pace.

The Urus’ optional Park Assist can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, starting, stopping and changing direction automatically. Remote Park Assist will park and retrieve your car remotely: press a button and watch it park itself. This is ideal for tight locations. The F-Pace’s automatic parking system does not offer parking by remote control.

Economic Advantages

According to iSeeCars.com the 2025 Lamborghini Urus retains 65.87% of its original value after 5 years, significantly more than the 40.11% resale value of the 2025 Jaguar F-Pace after five years, which can save the Lamborghini’s owner.

Recommendations

Motor Trend performed a comparison test in its November 2019 issue and they ranked the Lamborghini Urus first. They ranked the Jaguar F-Pace SVR fourth.
