Compare the2026 Lamborghini UrusVS 2026 Audi Q8

2026 Lamborghini Urus
2026 Audi Q8

Safety

Both the Urus and the Q8 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front and rear side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front and rear seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning, driver alert monitors, available night vision systems and around view monitors.

The Lamborghini Urus weighs 563 pounds more than the Audi Q8. The NHTSA advises that heavier vehicles are much safer in collisions than their significantly lighter counterparts.

Warranty

The Urus comes with a full 3-year/unlimited-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire truck and includes free 24-hour roadside assistance. The Q8’s 50,000-mile basic warranty expires sooner.

Lamborghini pays for scheduled maintenance (up to 5 visits) on the Urus for 2 years and 45000 miles longer than Audi pays for maintenance for the Q8 (5/75000 vs. 3/30,000).

Engine

The Urus’ 4.0 turbo V8 hybrid produces 454 more horsepower (789 vs. 335) and 221 lbs.-ft. more torque (590 vs. 369) than the Q8’s 3.0 turbo V6 hybrid.

Fuel Economy and Range

On the EPA test cycle the Urus SE running on electricity gets better mileage than the Q8 (46 city/50 hwy MPGe vs. 17 city/23 hwy).

The Urus SE can travel with zero emissions for 35 miles. The Q8 can’t move without running its internal combustion engine.

Brakes and Stopping

For better stopping power the Urus’ brake rotors are larger than those on the Q8:

Urus

Q8

Front Rotors

17.3 inches

14.8 inches

Rear Rotors

16.1 inches

13.8 inches

The Urus has standard heat-treated ceramic brake rotors, which last ten to twenty times as long as conventional cast iron rotors, don’t rust, don’t fade during repeated high speed braking, and their lighter weight contribute to better braking, handling and acceleration. The Q8 doesn’t offer ceramic brake rotors.

Tires and Wheels

For better traction and acceleration, the Urus has larger standard rear tires than the Q8 (315/40R21 vs. 285/45R21). The Urus’ optional rear tires are larger than the largest rear tires available on the Q8 (325/30R23 vs. 285/45R21).

The Urus’ standard 315/40R21 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 40 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Q8’s standard 45 series tires. The Urus’ optional 325/30R23 rear tires have a lower 30 series profile than the Q8’s optional 35 series tires.

Suspension and Handling

The Urus has active sway bars, which help keep it flat and controlled during cornering, but disconnect at lower speeds to smooth the ride and offer greater off-road suspension articulation. This helps keep the tires glued to the road on-road and off. The Q8 doesn’t offer an active sway bar system.

The front and rear suspension of the Urus uses air springs for a smoother, controlled ride than the Q8, which uses coil springs. Air springs maintain proper ride height and ride more smoothly.

The Urus S/SE offers an available adjustable active suspension system, which counteracts cornering forces actively, limiting body roll and improving handling and stability. Audi doesn’t offer an active suspension on the Q8.

The Urus Performante handles at 1.08 G’s, while the Q8 Prestige pulls only .83 G’s of cornering force in a Motor Trend skidpad test.

The Urus Performante executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver 3.8 seconds quicker than the Q8 Prestige (23.1 seconds @ .87 average G’s vs. 26.9 seconds @ .69 average G’s).

For better maneuverability, the Urus’ turning circle is 4.9 feet tighter than the Q8’s (38.7 feet vs. 43.6 feet).

For greater off-road capability the Urus has a 4 inches greater minimum ground clearance than the Q8 (9.8 vs. 5.8 inches), allowing the Urus to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged.

Passenger Space

The front step up height for the Urus is 2.6 inches lower than the Q8 (16.9” vs. 19.5”). The Urus’ rear step up height is 2.3 inches lower than the Q8’s (17.5” vs. 19.8”).

Cargo Capacity

A low lift-over cargo hatch design makes loading and unloading the Urus easier. The Urus’ cargo hatch lift-over height is 30 inches, while the Q8’s liftover is 33.7 inches.

The Urus’ cargo area is larger than the Q8’s in almost every dimension:

Max Width

Towing

Standard on the Urus uses the Electronic Stability Program sensors to detect trailer sway, then uses individual brakes to counteract any swaying and help keep the tow vehicle and trailer steady. The Q8 doesn’t offer electronic trailer sway control.

Ergonomics

The Urus’ instruments include an oil pressure gauge and a temperature gauge - which could save your engine! Often ‘idiot lights’ don’t warn you until damage has been done. The Q8 does not have an oil pressure gauge.

The Q8’s cornering lamps activate a lamp on the front corner when the turn signal is activated. The Urus’ standard adaptive cornering lights turn the actual headlight unit up to several degrees, depending on steering wheel angle and vehicle speed. This lights a significant distance into corners at any speed.

Economic Advantages

According to iSeeCars.com the 2025 Lamborghini Urus retains 65.87% of its original value after 5 years, significantly more than the 41.69% resale value of the 2025 Audi Q8 after five years, which can save the Lamborghini’s owner.
