The Lamborghini Revuelto has standard driver and front passenger side knee airbags mounted low on the dashboard. These airbags help prevent the driver and front passenger from sliding under their seatbelts or the main frontal airbags; this keeps them better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. Knee airbags also help keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision. The Emira doesn’t offer knee airbags.

The Revuelto Ultimae has all-wheel drive to maximize traction under poor conditions, especially in ice and snow. The Emira doesn’t offer all-wheel drive.

The Revuelto’s standard lane departure warning system alerts a temporarily inattentive driver when the vehicle begins to leave its lane and gently nudges the vehicle back towards its lane. A lane departure warning system costs extra on the Emira.

The Revuelto offers an optional 360 degree parking monitor to allow the driver to see objects all around the vehicle on a screen. The Emira only offers a rear monitor and front and rear parking sensors that beep or flash a light. That doesn’t help with obstacles to the sides.

Both the Revuelto and Emira offer Rear Cross Traffic Alert, but the Revuelto with Rear Cross Traffic Alert also has automatic rear cross-traffic braking (automatically applies the brakes) to better prevent a collision when backing near traffic. The Emira’s Rear Cross Traffic Alert doesn’t automatically brake.

Both the Revuelto and the Emira have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights, available crash mitigating brakes and blind spot warning systems.

The Lamborghini Revuelto weighs 600 to 678 pounds more than the Lotus Emira. The NHTSA advises that heavier cars are much safer in collisions than their significantly lighter counterparts.

The Revuelto comes with a full 3-year/unlimited-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire car. The Emira’s 3-year/36,000-mile basic warranty expires sooner.

The Revuelto comes with free roadside assistance for 3 years unlimited miles. Lamborghini will send help if you run out of gas, need a jump-start, lock your keys in or need any assistance on the road. Lotus doesn’t give free roadside assistance for the Emira.

The Revuelto’s corrosion warranty is 4 years longer than the Emira’s (12 vs. 8 years).

Lamborghini pays for scheduled maintenance on the Revuelto for 5 years and 75000 miles. Lamborghini will pay for oil changes, air filter replacements, cabin filter replacement, brake fluid replacement, inspections, and any other required maintenance (up to 5 visits). Lotus doesn’t pay scheduled maintenance for the Emira.

The Revuelto’s 6.5 DOHC V12 hybrid produces 601 more horsepower (1001 vs. 400) and 734 lbs.-ft. more torque (1044 vs. 310) than the Emira’s standard 3.5 supercharged V6. The Revuelto’s 6.5 DOHC V12 hybrid produces 601 more horsepower (1001 vs. 400) and 690 lbs.-ft. more torque (1044 vs. 354) than the Emira’s standard 2.0 turbo 4-cylinder.

As tested in Car and Driver the Lamborghini Revuelto is faster than the Lotus Emira turbo 4 cyl. (automatics tested):

The Revuelto Ultimae can travel with zero emissions for 5 miles. The Emira can’t move without running its internal combustion engine.

Regenerative brakes improve the Revuelto’s fuel efficiency by converting inertia back into energy instead of wasting it. The Emira doesn’t offer a regenerative braking system.

In heavy traffic or at stoplights the Revuelto’s engine automatically turns off when the vehicle is stopped, saving fuel and reducing pollution. The engine is automatically restarted when the driver gets ready to move again. If the conditions warrant or the driver wishes, the system can be manually disabled at any time for the duration of a trip. The Emira doesn’t offer an automatic engine start/stop system.

The Revuelto has 8.7 gallons more fuel capacity than the Emira (22.5 vs. 13.8 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

An eight-speed automatic (SMG) is standard on the Lamborghini Revuelto, for better acceleration and lower engine speed on the highway. Only a seven-speed automatic is available for the Emira.

All wheel drive, available in the Revuelto, provides the best traction for acceleration in wet, dry, and icy conditions. In corners, all wheel drive allows both outside wheels to provide power, balancing the car. This allows for better handling. The Lotus Emira is not available with all wheel drive.

For better stopping power the Revuelto’s brake rotors are larger than those on the Emira:

The Revuelto has standard heat-treated ceramic brake rotors, which last ten to twenty times as long as conventional cast iron rotors, don’t rust, don’t fade during repeated high speed braking, and their lighter weight contribute to better braking, handling and acceleration. The Emira doesn’t offer ceramic brake rotors.

For better traction, the Revuelto has larger standard tires than the Emira (F:265/35R20 & R:345/30R21 vs. F:245/35R20 & R:295/30R20). The Revuelto’s optional tires are larger than the largest tires available on the Emira (F:265/30R21 & R:355/25R22 vs. F:245/35R20 & R:295/30R20).

The Revuelto’s optional 265/30R21 front and 355/25R22 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 30 series front and 25 series rear profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Emira’s 35 series front and 30 series rear tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Revuelto has standard 21-inch rear wheels. Only 20-inch wheels are available on the Emira. The Revuelto offers optional 21-inch front and 22-inch rear wheels.

Changing a flat tire near traffic can be dangerous and inconvenient. The run-flat tires available on the Revuelto can be driven up to 50 miles without any air pressure, allowing you to drive to a service station for a repair. The Emira doesn’t offer run-flat tires.

The Revuelto offers an available adjustable active suspension system, which counteracts cornering forces actively, limiting body roll and improving handling and stability. Lotus doesn’t offer an active suspension on the Emira.

The Revuelto has a standard driver-adjustable suspension system. It allows the driver to choose between an extra-supple ride, reducing fatigue on long trips, or a sport setting, which allows maximum control for tricky roads. The Emira’s suspension doesn’t offer adjustable shock absorbers.

The Revuelto has a standard automatic front and rear load leveling suspension to keep ride height level with a heavy load or when towing. The Revuelto’s height leveling suspension allows the driver to raise ride height for better off-road clearance and then lower it again for easier entering and exiting and better on-road handling. The Emira doesn’t offer a load leveling suspension.

The Revuelto has vehicle speed sensitive variable-assist power steering, for low-effort parking, better control at highway speeds and during hard cornering, and a better feel of the road. The Emira doesn’t offer variable-assist power steering.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Revuelto’s wheelbase is 8 inches longer than on the Emira (109.4 inches vs. 101.4 inches).

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the Revuelto is 3.7 inches wider in the front and 3.7 inches wider in the rear than on the Emira.

The Revuelto’s front to rear weight distribution is more even (43.7% to 56.3%) than the Emira’s (39.8% to 60.2%). This gives the Revuelto more stable handling and braking.

The Revuelto handles at 1.10 G’s, while the Emira pulls only 1.00 G’s of cornering force in a Car and Driver skidpad test.

As tested by Car and Driver while cruising at 70 MPH, the interior of the Revuelto is quieter than the Emira (74 vs. 75 dB).

With its coupe body style and valet key, the Revuelto offers cargo security. The Emira’s hatchback body style and non-lockable remote release defeat cargo security.

A standard locking glovebox (which can’t be accessed with the valet key) keeps your small valuables safer in the Revuelto. The Emira doesn’t offer locking storage for small valuables.

The engine in the Revuelto is mounted longitudinally (North-South), instead of sideways, as in the Emira. This makes it easier to service and maintain, because the accessory belts are in front.

The Revuelto’s optional easy entry system glides the driver’s seat back when the door is unlocked or the ignition is switched off, making it easier for the driver to get in and out. The Emira doesn’t offer an easy entry system.

The Revuelto’s instruments include an oil pressure gauge and a temperature gauge - which could save your engine! Often ‘idiot lights’ don’t warn you until damage has been done. The Emira does not have an oil pressure gauge.

If the windows are left open on the Revuelto the driver can close all of them at the outside door handle or from a distance using the remote. On a hot day the driver can lower the windows from a distance using the keyless remote. The driver of the Emira can only close the windows from inside the vehicle, with the ignition on.

The Revuelto’s standard keyless entry system allow you to unlock the doors from either outside door handle and start the car, all without removing the key from the pocket or purse. Keyless Start standard on the Emira only offers hands-free access for the ignition, none to unlock the car.

The Revuelto’s rain-sensitive wipers adjust their speed and turn on and off automatically based on the amount of rainfall on the windshield. This allows the driver to concentrate on driving without constantly adjusting the wipers. The Emira’s standard manually variable intermittent wipers have to be constantly adjusted.

To help drivers avoid possible obstacles, the Revuelto has standard cornering lights to illuminate around corners when the turn signals are activated. The Emira doesn’t offer cornering lights. The Revuelto also offers optional adaptive headlights to illuminate around corners automatically by reading vehicle speed and steering wheel angle.

The Revuelto’s standard dual zone air conditioning allows the driver and front passenger to choose two completely different temperatures so people with different temperature preferences won’t have to compromise. This makes both the driver and front passenger as comfortable as possible. The Emira doesn’t offer dual zone air conditioning.
