Safety

To maximize occupant safety, the front seat shoulder belts of the Ferrari Roma have pretensioners to eliminate dangerous slack in the event of a collision. The Maserati GranTurismo Folgore doesn’t offer pretensioners.

The Roma has standard GPS Response System, which uses a global positioning satellite (GPS) receiver and a cellular system to send emergency personnel to the scene if any airbags deploy. The GranTurismo Folgore doesn’t offer a GPS response system, only a navigation computer with no live response for emergencies, so if you’re involved in an accident and you’re incapacitated help may not come as quickly.

Both the Roma and the GranTurismo Folgore have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights and rearview cameras.

Warranty

The Roma comes with a full 3-year/unlimited-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire car and includes free 24-hour roadside assistance. The GranTurismo Folgore’s 50,000-mile basic warranty expires sooner.

The Roma’s corrosion warranty is unlimited miles longer than the GranTurismo Folgore’s (unlimited vs. 50,000 miles).

Ferrari pays for scheduled maintenance on the Roma for 7 years and unlimited miles. Ferrari will pay for oil changes, air filter replacements, cabin filter replacement, brake fluid replacement, inspections, and any other required maintenance. Maserati doesn’t pay scheduled maintenance for the GranTurismo Folgore.

The GranTurismo Folgore doesn’t offer ceramic brake rotors.

Suspension and Handling

For better maneuverability, the Roma’s turning circle is 5.3 feet tighter than the GranTurismo Folgore’s (35.4 feet vs. 40.7 feet).

Chassis

The Ferrari Roma may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 1350 pounds less than the Maserati GranTurismo Folgore.

The Roma is 11.9 inches shorter than the GranTurismo Folgore, making the Roma easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

Cargo Capacity

The Roma’s standard rear seats fold to accommodate long and bulky cargo. The GranTurismo Folgore doesn’t offer folding rear seats, only a ski pass-through.

Ergonomics

The Roma’s standard easy entry system raises the steering wheel, making it easier for the driver to get in and out. The GranTurismo Folgore doesn’t offer an easy entry system.
