Safety

When descending a steep, off-road slope, the EX30’s standard Hill Descent Control allows you to creep down safely. The Polestar 4 doesn’t offer Hill Descent Control.

Both the EX30 and the Polestar 4 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, front seat center airbag, side-impact head airbags, front and rear seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, post-collision automatic braking systems, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning, driver alert monitors and available around view monitors.

Warranty

The EX30’s standard electric motors produces 150 more horsepower (422 vs. 272) and 147 lbs.-ft. more torque (400 vs. 253) than the Polestar 4’s standard electric motor.

Suspension and Handling

For better maneuverability, the EX30’s turning circle is 3.1 feet tighter than the Polestar 4’s (35.1 feet vs. 38.2 feet). The EX30 Cross Country’s turning circle is 1.5 feet tighter than the Polestar 4’s (36.7 feet vs. 38.2 feet).

For greater off-road capability the EX30 has a greater minimum ground clearance than the Polestar 4 (6.7 vs. 6.5 inches), allowing the EX30 to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged. The EX30 Cross Country’s minimum ground clearance is 1 inch higher than on the Polestar 4 (7.5 vs. 6.5 inches).

Chassis

The Volvo EX30 may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 1050 to 1150 pounds less than the Polestar 4.

The EX30 is 1 foot, 11.9 inches shorter than the Polestar 4, making the EX30 easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The EX30 is 6.7 inches narrower than the Polestar 4, making the EX30 easier to handle and maneuver in traffic.

Passenger Space

The EX30 has 1.5 inches more front headroom and .5 inches more rear headroom than the Polestar 4.

Towing

The EX30’s standard towing capacity is much higher than the Polestar 4’s (2000 vs. 0 pounds). Maximum trailer towing in the Polestar 4 AWD is only 3500 pounds. The EX30 offers up to a 3527 lbs. towing capacity.

Ergonomics

The EX30 Ultra’s Park Pilot Assist can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, starting, stopping and changing direction automatically. The Polestar 4 doesn’t offer an automated parking system.
