The EX30 has a standard front seat center airbag, which deploys between the driver and front passenger, protecting them from injuries caused by striking each other in serious side impacts. The Blazer EV doesn’t offer front seat center airbags.

The EX30 has standard Post-impact braking, which automatically apply the brakes in the event of a crash to help prevent secondary collisions and prevent further injuries. The Blazer EV doesn’t offer a post collision braking system: in the event of a collision that triggers the airbags, more collisions are possible without the protection of airbags that may have already deployed.

When descending a steep, off-road slope, the EX30’s standard Hill Descent Control allows you to creep down safely. The Blazer EV doesn’t offer Hill Descent Control.

The EX30 comes with a full 4-year/50,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire truck and includes 24-hour roadside assistance. The Blazer EV’s 3-year/36,000-mile basic warranty expires 1 year or 14,000 miles sooner.

The EX30’s corrosion warranty is 6 years and unlimited miles longer than the Blazer EV’s (12/unlimited vs. 6/100,000).

Volvo pays for scheduled maintenance on the EX30 for 2 years and 20,000 miles. Volvo will pay for tire rotations, cabin filter replacement, brake fluid replacement, inspections, and any other required maintenance. Chevrolet only pays for the first scheduled maintenance visit on the Blazer EV.

From surveys of all its subscribers, Consumer Reports’ March 2025 Auto Issue reports that Volvo vehicles are more reliable than Chevrolet vehicles. Consumer Reports ranks Volvo 1 place higher in reliability than Chevrolet.

The EX30’s standard tires provide better handling because they have a lower 55 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Blazer EV LT’s standard 60 series tires.

The EX30 has vehicle speed sensitive variable-assist power steering, for low-effort parking, better control at highway speeds and during hard cornering, and a better feel of the road. The Blazer EV doesn’t offer variable-assist power steering.

The EX30 Ultra handles at .85 G’s, while the Blazer EV RS eAWD pulls only .80 G’s of cornering force in a Car and Driver skidpad test.

For better maneuverability, the EX30’s turning circle is 4.6 feet tighter than the Blazer EV’s (35.1 feet vs. 39.7 feet). The EX30 Cross Country’s turning circle is 3 feet tighter than the Blazer EV’s (36.7 feet vs. 39.7 feet).

The Volvo EX30 may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 1100 to 1600 pounds less than the Chevrolet Blazer EV.

The EX30 is 2 feet, 1.5 inches shorter than the Blazer EV, making the EX30 easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The EX30 is 5.6 inches narrower than the Blazer EV, making the EX30 easier to handle and maneuver in traffic.

A low lift-over cargo hatch design makes loading and unloading the EX30 easier. The EX30’s cargo hatch lift-over height is 22.9 inches, while the Blazer EV’s liftover is 29.8 inches.

A standard locking glovebox keeps your small valuables safer in the EX30. The Blazer EV doesn’t offer locking storage for small valuables.

The EX30’s standard towing capacity is much higher than the Blazer EV’s (2000 vs. 1500 pounds). Maximum trailer towing in the Chevrolet Blazer EV is only 1500 pounds. The EX30 offers up to a 3527 lbs. towing capacity.

While the Blazer EV RS eAWD SS is not recommended to tow, any EX30 can tow a minimum of 2000 pounds.

The EX30’s front and rear power windows all open or close with one touch of the switches, making it more convenient at drive-up windows and toll booths, or when talking with someone outside of the car. The Blazer EV’s passenger windows don’t close automatically.

If the windows are left open on the EX30 the driver can close all of them at the outside door handle or from a distance using the remote. On a hot day the driver can lower the windows from a distance using the keyless remote. The driver of the Blazer EV can only close the windows from inside the vehicle, with the ignition on.

The EX30’s rain-sensitive wipers adjust their speed and turn on and off automatically based on the amount of rainfall on the windshield. This allows the driver to concentrate on driving without constantly adjusting the wipers. The Blazer EV’s standard manually variable intermittent wipers have to be constantly adjusted.

The EX30’s standard outside mirrors include heating elements to clear off the mirrors for better visibility. Chevrolet charges extra for heated mirrors on the Blazer EV.

The Volvo EX30 has power folding mirrors that offer unparalleled convenience while maneuvering in tight places or parked. With the mirrors folded it’s easier to walk past and help prevent parking damage. The mirrors can be quickly unfolded when the driver is ready to leave. Power folding mirrors costs extra on the Blazer EV.

The EX30 has a standard dual zone air conditioning allows the driver and front passenger to choose two completely different temperatures so people with different temperature preferences won’t have to compromise. This makes both the driver and front passenger as comfortable as possible. Dual zone air conditioning is only available on the Blazer EV RS/SS.

To quickly and conveniently keep personal devices charged without cables tangling and wearing out, the Volvo EX30 has a standard wireless phone charging system (Qi) in the center console. Wireless charging costs extra on the Blazer EV.
