For enhanced safety, the front and rear seat shoulder belts of the Lexus RZ have pretensioners to tighten the seatbelts and eliminate dangerous slack in the event of a collision and force limiters to limit the pressure the belts will exert on the passengers. The Lotus Eletre doesn’t offer pretensioners for its rear seat belts.

Over 200 people are killed each year when backed over by motor vehicles. The RZ Premium/Luxury/F Sport has a standard Parking Support Brake that uses rear sensors to monitor for objects to the rear and automatically applies the brakes to prevent a collision. The Eletre doesn’t offer automatic braking for stationary objects directly to the rear.

The Lexus RZ’s rear backup camera has a standard washer for maintaining a clear view under various conditions. In contrast, the Lotus Eletre does not offer a rear camera washer, meaning its effectiveness relies on manual cleaning by the user when necessary.

Both the RZ and the Eletre have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, post-collision automatic braking systems, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning, driver alert monitors and available around view monitors.

The RZ comes with a full 4-year/50,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire truck. The Eletre’s 3-year/36,000-mile basic warranty expires 1 year or 14,000 miles sooner.

The RZ comes with free roadside assistance for 4 years unlimited miles. Lexus will send help if you run out of gas, need a jump-start, lock your keys in or need any assistance on the road. Lotus doesn’t give free roadside assistance for the Eletre.

Lexus’ powertrain warranty covers the RZ 3 years and 34000 miles longer than Lotus covers the Eletre. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 6 years or 70,000 miles. Coverage on the Eletre ends after only 3 years or 36,000 miles.

There are almost 6 times as many Lexus dealers as there are Lotus dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the RZ’s warranty.

For greater off-road capability the RZ has a greater minimum ground clearance than the Eletre (7.9 vs. 7.6 inches), allowing the RZ to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged.

The Lexus RZ may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 1200 to 1550 pounds less than the Lotus Eletre.

The RZ is 11.7 inches shorter than the Eletre, making the RZ easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The RZ has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat up than the Eletre with its rear seat up (34.1 vs. 24 cubic feet). The RZ has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat folded than the Eletre with its rear seat folded (55.6 vs. 54 cubic feet).

In poor weather, headlights can lose their effectiveness as grime builds up on their lenses. This can reduce visibility without the driver realizing. The RZ offers available headlight washers to keep headlight output high. The Eletre doesn’t offer headlight washers.

To shield the driver and front passenger’s vision over a larger portion of the windshield and side windows, the RZ has standard extendable sun visors. The Eletre doesn’t offer extendable visors.

The RZ’s standard rear and side view mirrors have an automatic dimming feature. The RZ has a 115-volt a/c outlet on the center console, allowing you to recharge a laptop or run small household appliances without special adapters that can break or get misplaced. The Eletre doesn’t offer a house-current electrical outlet.

The RZ is available in both front-wheel drive and four-wheel drive configurations. The Eletre doesn’t offer a two-wheel drive configuration.
