The Aston Martin Vanquish has standard driver and front passenger side knee airbags mounted low on the dashboard. These airbags help prevent the driver and front passenger from sliding under their seatbelts or the main frontal airbags; this keeps them better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. Knee airbags also help keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision. The 911 doesn’t offer knee airbags.

The Vanquish has a standard blind spot warning system that uses sensors to alert the driver to objects in the vehicle’s blind spots where the side view mirrors don’t reveal them. A system to reveal vehicles in the 911’s blind spot costs extra.

To help make backing out of a parking space safer, the Vanquish has standard Rear Cross Traffic Assist, helping the driver avoid collisions. Porsche charges extra for Rear Cross Traffic Alert on the 911.

Both the Vanquish and the 911 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, rearview cameras and driver alert monitors.

The Vanquish comes with a full 3-year/unlimited-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire car and includes free 24-hour roadside assistance. The 911’s 50,000-mile basic warranty expires sooner.

The Vanquish’s 5.2 turbo V12 produces 436 more horsepower (824 vs. 388) and 407 lbs.-ft. more torque (738 vs. 331) than the 911’s standard 3.0 turbo 6-cylinder. The Vanquish’s 5.2 turbo V12 produces 351 more horsepower (824 vs. 473) and 348 lbs.-ft. more torque (738 vs. 390) than the 911 S’ standard 3.0 turbo 6-cylinder. The Vanquish’s 5.2 turbo V12 produces 322 more horsepower (824 vs. 502) and 407 lbs.-ft. more torque (738 vs. 331) than the 911 GT3’s standard 4.0 DOHC 6-cylinder. The Vanquish’s 5.2 turbo V12 produces 184 more horsepower (824 vs. 640) and 148 lbs.-ft. more torque (738 vs. 590) than the 911 Turbo S’ standard 3.7 turbo 6-cylinder.

The Vanquish has 5 gallons more fuel capacity than the 911’s standard fuel tank (21.6 vs. 16.6 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

For better traction, the Vanquish has larger tires than the 911 (F:275/35R21 & R:325/30R21 vs. F:235/40R19 & R:295/35R20).

The Vanquish’s 275/35R21 front and 325/30R21 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 35 series front and 30 series rear profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the 911 Dakar’s standard 45 series front and 40 series rear tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Vanquish has standard 21-inch wheels. Smaller 19-inch front and 20-inch rear wheels are standard on the 911. The 911’s largest wheels are only 20-inches in the front and 21-inches in the rear.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Vanquish’s wheelbase is 17.1 inches longer than on the 911 (113.6 inches vs. 96.5 inches). The Vanquish’s wheelbase is 16.9 inches longer than on the 911 GT3 (113.6 inches vs. 96.7 inches).

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the Vanquish is 3.3 inches wider in the front and 4.2 inches wider in the rear than the average track on the 911.

The Vanquish’s front to rear weight distribution is more even (51% to 49%) than the 911’s (39.5% to 60.5%). This gives the Vanquish more stable handling and braking.

The Vanquish uses computer-generated active noise cancellation to help remove annoying noise and vibration from the passenger compartment, especially at low frequencies. The 911 doesn’t offer active noise cancellation.

The Vanquish has .8 inches more front headroom, 1.4 inches more front legroom and 1.7 inches more front shoulder room than the 911.

The Vanquish Coupe has a much larger trunk than the 911 Coupe with its rear seat up (8.8 vs. 4.8 cubic feet).

The Vanquish Volante has a much larger trunk with its top down than the 911 Cabriolet with its top down (6.4 vs. 4.8 cubic feet).

Unlike the driver-only memory system optional at extra cost in the 911, the Vanquish has standard driver and passenger memory, so that when drivers switch, the memory setting adjusts the driver’s seat, steering wheel position and outside mirror angle and the front passenger seat also adjusts to the new passenger’s preset preferences.

If the windows are left open on the Vanquish the driver can close them all from a distance using the remote. On a hot day the driver can also lower the windows the same way. The driver of the 911 can only operate the windows from inside the vehicle, with the ignition on.

In case of a sudden change of weather, the Vanquish Convertible has a standard remote convertible top that can be raised from a distance to protect the interior of the vehicle from damage. On a hot day the Vanquish Convertible has a standard remote opening feature, to lower the top from outside. The 911 doesn’t offer a remote top, so the driver will have to run to the car, get in, turn the ignition on and raise the top to prevent the interior from being damaged.

The Vanquish has standard Keyless Entry that allows you to unlock the doors from either outside door handle, open the trunk, and start the engine, all without removing the key from the pocket or purse. The 911 GT3 doesn’t offer Comfort Access.

The Vanquish’s cruise control switch is lit from behind, making it plainly visible and easier to operate at night. The 911’s cruise control switches are unlit, making them difficult to find at night and operate safely.
