The Aston Martin Vanquish has standard driver and front passenger side knee airbags mounted low on the dashboard. These airbags help prevent the driver and front passenger from sliding under their seatbelts or the main frontal airbags; this keeps them better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. Knee airbags also help keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision. The SF90 doesn’t offer knee airbags.

The Vanquish has standard Autonomous Emergency Braking, which use forward mounted sensors to warn the driver of a possible collision ahead. If the driver doesn’t react and the system determines a collision is imminent, it automatically applies the brakes at full-force in order to reduce the force of the crash or avoid it altogether. The SF90 doesn't offer collision warning or crash mitigation brakes.

The Vanquish’s lane departure warning system alerts a temporarily inattentive driver when the vehicle begins to leave its lane and gently nudges the vehicle back towards its lane. The SF90 doesn’t offer a lane departure warning system.

The Vanquish has a standard Surround View System to allow the driver to see objects all around the vehicle on a screen. The SF90 only offers a rear monitor and rear parking sensors that beep or flash a light. That doesn’t help with obstacles to the front or sides.

To help make backing out of a parking space safer, the Vanquish’s standard Rear Cross Traffic Assist uses sensors in the rear to alert the driver to vehicles approaching from the side, helping the driver avoid collisions. The SF90 doesn’t offer a rear cross-path warning system.

The Vanquish’s driver alert monitor detects an inattentive driver then sounds a warning and suggests a break. According to the NHTSA, drivers who fall asleep cause about 100,000 crashes and 1500 deaths a year. The SF90 doesn’t offer a driver alert monitor.

Both the Vanquish and the SF90 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights and rearview cameras.

The Aston Martin Vanquish weighs 750 to 959 pounds more than the Ferrari SF90. The NHTSA advises that heavier cars are much safer in collisions than their significantly lighter counterparts.

Warranty

The Vanquish’s corrosion warranty is 7 years longer than the SF90’s (10 vs. 3 years).

Reliability

The SF90’s redline is at 8000 RPM, which causes more engine wear, and a greater chance of a catastrophic engine failure. The Vanquish has a 7000 RPM redline.

Engine

The Vanquish’s 5.2 turbo V12 produces 148 lbs.-ft. more torque (738 vs. 590) than the SF90’s standard 4.0 turbo V8 hybrid. The Vanquish’s 5.2 turbo V12 produces 145 lbs.-ft. more torque (738 vs. 593) than the SF90 XX Stradale’s standard 4.0 turbo V8 hybrid.

Fuel Economy and Range

The Vanquish has 3.6 gallons more fuel capacity than the SF90 (21.6 vs. 18 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

Brakes and Stopping

For better stopping power the Vanquish’s brake rotors are larger than those on the SF90:

Tires and Wheels

For better traction, the Vanquish has larger tires than the SF90 (F:275/35R21 & R:325/30R21 vs. F:255/35R20 & R:315/30R20).

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Vanquish has standard 21-inch wheels. Only 20-inch wheels are available on the SF90.

Suspension and Handling

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Vanquish’s wheelbase is 9.3 inches longer than on the SF90 (113.6 inches vs. 104.3 inches).

The Vanquish’s front to rear weight distribution is more even (51% to 49%) than the SF90’s (45% to 55%). This gives the Vanquish more stable handling and braking.

Chassis

The Vanquish uses computer-generated active noise cancellation to help remove annoying noise and vibration from the passenger compartment, especially at low frequencies. The SF90 doesn’t offer active noise cancellation.

Cargo Capacity

The Vanquish Coupe has a much larger trunk than the SF90 Coupe (8.8 vs. 2.6 cubic feet).

Servicing Ease

The Vanquish uses gas struts to support the hood for easier service access. The SF90 uses a prop rod to support its heavy hood. It takes two hands to open the hood and set the prop rod, the prop rod gets in the way during maintenance and service, and the prop rod could be knocked out, causing the heavy hood to fall on the person maintaining or servicing the car.

Ergonomics

Unlike the driver-only memory seat in the SF90, the Vanquish has standard driver and passenger memory, so that when drivers switch, the memory setting adjusts the driver’s seat, steering wheel position and outside mirror angle and the front passenger seat also adjusts to the new passenger’s preset preferences.

The Vanquish’s front power windows open or close with one touch of the switches, making it more convenient at drive-up windows and toll booths, or when talking with someone outside of the car. The SF90’s front passenger window doesn’t close automatically.

The Vanquish’s standard power window controls are mounted on the armrest for easy access. The SF90’s available power window controls are spread out on the center console where they can’t be seen without the driver completely removing his eyes from the road.

In case of a sudden change of weather, the Vanquish Convertible has a standard remote convertible top that can be raised from a distance to protect the interior of the vehicle from damage. On a hot day the Vanquish Convertible has a standard remote opening feature, to lower the top from outside. The SF90 doesn’t offer a remote top, so the driver will have to run to the car, get in, turn the ignition on and raise the top to prevent the interior from being damaged.

The Vanquish’s standard Keyless Entry allow you to unlock the doors from either outside door handle, open the trunk, and start the engine, all without removing the key from the pocket or purse. Push-button start standard on the SF90 only offers hands-free access for the ignition, none to unlock the car.

The Vanquish has standard heated front seats, which keep the driver and front passenger extremely comfortable in the winter. Heated seats aren’t available in the SF90.

Optional air-conditioned seats in the Vanquish keep the driver and front passenger comfortable and take the sting out of hot seats in Summer. The SF90 doesn’t offer air-conditioned seats.

On extremely cold winter days, the Vanquish’s optional heated steering wheel provides comfort, allowing the driver to steer safely and comfortably before the car heater warms up. The SF90 doesn’t offer a heated steering wheel.

The Vanquish’s standard dual zone air conditioning allows the driver and front passenger to choose two completely different temperatures so people with different temperature preferences won’t have to compromise. This makes both the driver and front passenger as comfortable as possible. The SF90 doesn’t offer dual zone air conditioning.

To quickly and conveniently keep personal devices charged without cables tangling and wearing out, the Aston Martin Vanquish has a standard wireless phone charging system (Qi) in the front center console. The SF90 doesn’t offer wireless personal charging.
