The SF90 has all-wheel drive to maximize traction under poor conditions, especially in ice and snow. The MC20 doesn’t offer all-wheel drive.
Both the SF90 and the MC20 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights and rearview cameras.
The SF90 comes with a full 3-year/unlimited-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire car and includes free 24-hour roadside assistance. The MC20’s 50,000-mile basic warranty expires sooner.
The SF90’s corrosion warranty is unlimited miles longer than the MC20’s (unlimited vs. 50,000 miles).
Ferrari pays for scheduled maintenance on the SF90 for 7 years and unlimited miles. Ferrari will pay for oil changes, air filter replacements, cabin filter replacement, brake fluid replacement, inspections, and any other required maintenance. Maserati doesn’t pay scheduled maintenance for the MC20.
The SF90’s standard 4.0 turbo V8 hybrid produces 365 more horsepower (986 vs. 621) and 52 lbs.-ft. more torque (590 vs. 538) than the MC20’s standard 3.0 turbo V6. The SF90’s 4.0 turbo V8 hybrid produces 355 more horsepower (986 vs. 631) and 52 lbs.-ft. more torque (590 vs. 538) than the MC20 GT2 Stradale’s standard 3.0 turbo V6. The SF90 XX Stradale’s standard 4.0 turbo V8 hybrid produces 387 more horsepower (1018 vs. 631) and 55 lbs.-ft. more torque (593 vs. 538) than the MC20 GT2 Stradale’s standard 3.0 turbo V6.

The SF90 XX Stradale can travel with zero emissions for 8 miles. The MC20 can’t move without running its internal combustion engine.

Regenerative brakes improve the SF90’s fuel efficiency by converting inertia back into energy instead of wasting it. The MC20 doesn’t offer a regenerative braking system.
In heavy traffic or at stoplights the SF90’s engine automatically turns off when the vehicle is stopped, saving fuel and reducing pollution. The engine is automatically restarted when the driver gets ready to move again. If the conditions warrant or the driver wishes, the system can be manually disabled at any time for the duration of a trip. The MC20 doesn’t offer an automatic engine start/stop system.
The SF90 has 2.1 gallons more fuel capacity than the MC20 (18 vs. 15.9 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.
All wheel drive, available in the SF90, provides the best traction for acceleration in wet, dry, and icy conditions. In corners, all wheel drive allows both outside wheels to provide power, balancing the car. This allows for better handling. The Maserati MC20 is not available with all wheel drive.

For better traction, the SF90 has larger tires than the MC20 (F:255/35R20 & R:315/30R20 vs. F:245/35R20 & R:305/30R20).
The SF90’s front to rear weight distribution is more even (45% to 55%) than the MC20’s (41% to 59%). This gives the SF90 more stable handling and braking.
The SF90’s instruments include an oil pressure gauge and a temperature gauge - which could save your engine! Often ‘idiot lights’ don’t warn you until damage has been done. The MC20 has neither an oil pressure gauge nor a temperature gauge.
The SF90 has a standard heads-up display that projects speed in front of the driver’s line of sight, allowing drivers to view information without diverting their eyes from the road. The MC20 doesn’t offer a heads-up display.
To help drivers see further while navigating curves, the SF90 has standard adaptive headlights to illuminate around corners automatically by reading vehicle speed and steering wheel angle. The MC20 doesn’t offer cornering lights.
The SF90’s power mirror controls are mounted on the door for easy access. The MC20’s power mirror controls are on the dash where they are possibly hidden by the steering wheel and are awkward to manipulate.
When the SF90 is put in reverse, the passenger rearview mirror tilts from its original position. This gives the driver a better view of the curb during parallel parking maneuvers. Shifting out of reverse puts the mirror into its original position. The MC20’s mirror doesn’t automatically adjust for backing.
The Ferrari SF90 outsold the Maserati MC20 by almost three to one during 2024.
