Safety
Warranty
The Purosangue comes with a full 3-year/unlimited-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire truck. The Eletre’s 3-year/36,000-mile basic warranty expires sooner.
The Purosangue comes with free roadside assistance for 3 years unlimited miles. Ferrari will send help if you run out of gas, need a jump-start, lock your keys in or need any assistance on the road. Lotus doesn’t give free roadside assistance for the Eletre.
Ferrari pays for scheduled maintenance on the Purosangue for 7 years and unlimited miles. Ferrari will pay for oil changes, air filter replacements, cabin filter replacement, brake fluid replacement, inspections, and any other required maintenance. Lotus doesn’t pay scheduled maintenance for the Eletre.
Engine
The Purosangue’s 6.5 DOHC V12 produces 112 more horsepower (715 vs. 603) and 5 lbs.-ft. more torque (528 vs. 523) than the Eletre’s standard electric motors.
Transmission
An eight-speed automatic (SMG) is standard on the Ferrari Purosangue, for better acceleration and lower engine speed on the highway. Only a 2-speed automatic is available for the Eletre.
The Purosangue offers a standard sequential manual gearbox (SMG). With no clutch pedal to worry about and a fully automatic mode, an SMG is much more efficient than a conventional automatic but just as easy to drive. The Eletre doesn’t offer an SMG or a conventional manual transmission.
Tires and Wheels
The Purosangue’s 255/35R22 front and 315/30R23 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 35 series front and 30 series rear profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Eletre’s standard 40 series front and 35 series rear tires.
For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Purosangue has standard 23-inch rear wheels. Smaller 22-inch wheels are standard on the Eletre.
Changing a flat tire near traffic can be dangerous and inconvenient. The run-flat tires optional on the Purosangue can be driven up to 50 miles without any air pressure, allowing you to drive to a service station for a repair. The Eletre doesn’t offer run-flat tires.
Suspension and Handling
The Purosangue offers an available adjustable active suspension system, which counteracts cornering forces actively, limiting body roll and improving handling and stability. Lotus doesn’t offer an active suspension on the Eletre.
For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the Purosangue is 1.2 inches wider in the front and 1.4 inches wider in the rear than on the Eletre.
Chassis
The Ferrari Purosangue may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 650 to 1000 pounds less than the Lotus Eletre.
The Purosangue is 5.1 inches shorter than the Eletre, making the Purosangue easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.
Ergonomics
The Purosangue’s power side reverse swing out doors make it much easier to load and unload kids and cargo. One touch opens the door, before you even get to the sport utility. The Eletre doesn’t offer a power rear door.
In poor weather, headlights can lose their effectiveness as grime builds up on their lenses. This can reduce visibility without the driver realizing. The Purosangue has standard headlight washers to keep headlight output high. The Eletre doesn’t offer headlight washers.
The Purosangue’s standard rear and side view mirrors have an automatic dimming feature. These mirrors can be set to automatically darken quickly when headlights shine on them, keeping following vehicles from blinding or distracting the driver. The Eletre has an automatic rear view mirror, but its side mirrors don’t dim.
