Safety
Fuel Economy and Range
On the EPA test cycle the Daytona SP3 gets better fuel mileage than the Mistral (12 city/16 hwy vs. 8 city/12 hwy).
In heavy traffic or at stoplights the Daytona SP3’s engine automatically turns off when the vehicle is stopped, saving fuel and reducing pollution. The engine is automatically restarted when the driver gets ready to move again. If the conditions warrant or the driver wishes, the system can be manually disabled at any time for the duration of a trip. The Mistral doesn’t offer an automatic engine start/stop system.
The Daytona SP3 has a standard cap-less fueling system. The fuel filler is automatically opened when the fuel nozzle is inserted and automatically closed when it’s removed. This eliminates the need to unscrew and replace the cap and it reduces fuel evaporation, which causes pollution. The Mistral doesn’t offer a cap-less fueling system.
Environmental Friendliness
In its Green Vehicle Guide, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the Ferrari Daytona SP3 higher (2 out of 10) than the Bugatti Mistral (1). This means the Daytona SP3 produces up to 18.2 pounds less smog-producing pollutants than the Mistral every 15,000 miles.
Chassis
The Daytona SP3’s standard power retractable hardtop allows a seamless transition from an open car, to a completely sealed coupe. The Mistral doesn’t offer a retractable hardtop.
Ergonomics
The Daytona SP3’s rain-sensitive wipers adjust their speed and turn on and off automatically based on the amount of rainfall on the windshield. This allows the driver to concentrate on driving without constantly adjusting the wipers. The Mistral’s
In poor weather, headlights can lose their effectiveness as grime builds up on their lenses. This can reduce visibility without the driver realizing. The Daytona SP3 has standard headlight washers to keep headlight output high. The Mistral doesn’t offer headlight washers.
The Daytona SP3’s standard steering wheel mounted cruise control is close at hand. The Mistral’s standard cruise control is on an over-crowded turn signal stalk.
Standard smartphone integration for the Daytona SP3 allows the driver and passengers access to select programs on their smartphones, including reading text messages aloud, playing internet radio stations and other connected activities without taking their eyes off the road or their hands from the wheel. The Mistral doesn’t offer factory integrated smartphone program access.
