For enhanced safety, the front and rear seat shoulder belts of the Genesis GV80 Coupe have pretensioners to tighten the seatbelts and eliminate dangerous slack in the event of a collision and force limiters to limit the pressure the belts will exert on the passengers. The Porsche Cayenne Coupe doesn’t offer pretensioners for its rear seat belts.

In the past twenty years hundreds of infants and young children have died after being left in vehicles, usually by accident. When turning the vehicle off, drivers of the GV80 Coupe are reminded to check the back seat when a sensor determines the back seat is occupied. The Cayenne Coupe doesn’t offer a back seat reminder.

The GV80 Coupe has a standard front seat center airbag, which deploys between the driver and front passenger, protecting them from injuries caused by striking each other in serious side impacts. The Cayenne Coupe doesn’t offer front seat center airbags.

In a Vehicle-to-Vehicle Frontal Crash Prevention 2.0 test conducted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), the Genesis GV80 Coupe achieved a “Good” rating - the highest possible - for its performance in forward collision warning and automatic braking systems, demonstrating its excellent capabilities in preventing collisions. The Porsche Cayenne Coupe has not been tested.

Both the GV80 Coupe and the Cayenne Coupe have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front and rear side-impact airbags, driver knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, post-collision automatic braking systems, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, around view monitors, rear cross-path warning and driver alert monitors.

The Genesis GV80 Coupe has achieved the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s (IIHS) highest rating of “Top Safety Pick Plus” for the 2025 model year. This distinction is based on its exceptional performance in IIHS’ rigorous battery of safety tests. Specifically, it earned a “Good” rating in the latest, more stringent moderate overlap front crash test, a “Good” result in the updated side impact test, and an “Acceptable” score in the revised pedestrian crash prevention test. The Cayenne Coupe has not yet been evaluated by the IIHS for 2025.

The GV80 Coupe comes with a full 5-year/60,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire truck and includes free 24-hour roadside assistance. The Cayenne Coupe’s 4-year/50,000-mile basic warranty expires 1 year or 10,000 miles sooner.

Genesis’ powertrain warranty covers the GV80 Coupe 6 years and 50,000 miles longer than Porsche covers the Cayenne Coupe. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 10 years or 100,000 miles. Coverage on the Cayenne Coupe ends after only 4 years or 50,000 miles.

Genesis pays for scheduled maintenance on the GV80 Coupe for 2 years and 26000 miles longer than Porsche pays for maintenance for the Cayenne Coupe (3/36,000 vs. 1/10,000).

To lower fuel costs and make buying fuel easier, the Genesis GV80 Coupe uses regular unleaded gasoline (premium recommended for maximum performance). The Cayenne Coupe requires premium, which can cost on average about 84.9 cents more per gallon.

The GV80 Coupe has 2.7 gallons more fuel capacity than the Cayenne Coupe E-Hybrid’s standard fuel tank (21.1 vs. 18.4 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

In its Green Vehicle Guide, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the Genesis GV80 Coupe higher (5 out of 10) than the Porsche Cayenne Coupe (2 to 4). This means the GV80 Coupe produces up to 20.8 pounds less smog-producing pollutants than the Cayenne Coupe every 15,000 miles.

The GV80 Coupe’s drift compensation steering can automatically compensate for road conditions which would cause the vehicle to drift from side to side, helping the driver to keep the vehicle straight more easily. The Cayenne Coupe doesn’t offer drift compensation steering.

Pressing a button automatically lowers or raises the GV80 Coupe’s rear seats, to make changing between cargo and passengers easier. The Cayenne Coupe doesn’t offer automatic folding seats.

The GV80 Coupe has a standard remote vehicle starting system, so the vehicle can be started from inside the driver's house. This allows the driver to comfortably warm up the engine before going out to the vehicle. The climate system will also automatically heat or cool the interior. The Cayenne Coupe doesn’t offer a remote starting system.

If the windows are left open on the GV80 Coupe the driver can close them all at the outside door handle. On a hot day the driver can also lower the windows the same way. The driver of the Cayenne Coupe can only operate the windows from inside the vehicle, with the ignition on.

The GV80 Coupe’s power window, power lock, power mirror and cruise control switches are lit from behind, making them plainly visible and easier to operate at night. The Cayenne Coupe’s cruise control switches are unlit, making them difficult to find at night and operate safely.

To shield the driver and front passenger’s vision over a larger portion of the windshield and side windows, the GV80 Coupe has standard extendable sun visors. The Cayenne Coupe doesn’t offer extendable visors.

Standard air conditioned seats in the front and rear seats keep the GV80 Coupe’s passengers comfortable and take the sting out of hot leather in summer. The Cayenne Coupe doesn’t offer air-conditioned seats in the rear.

The GV80 Coupe has a 115-volt a/c outlet on the center console, allowing you to recharge a laptop or run small household appliances without special adapters that can break or get misplaced. The Cayenne Coupe doesn’t offer a house-current electrical outlet.
