For enhanced safety, the front and rear seat shoulder belts of the Jeep Wagoneer S have pretensioners to tighten the seatbelts and eliminate dangerous slack in the event of a collision and force limiters to limit the pressure the belts will exert on the passengers. The Volkswagen ID.BUZZ doesn’t offer pretensioners for its second-row seat belts.

In the past twenty years hundreds of infants and young children have died after being left in vehicles, usually by accident. When turning the vehicle off, drivers of the Wagoneer S are reminded to check the back seat if they opened the rear door before starting out. The ID.BUZZ doesn’t offer a back seat reminder.

The Jeep Wagoneer S has a standard driver’s side knee airbag mounted low on the dashboard. The knee airbag helps prevent the driver from sliding under the seatbelts or the main frontal airbag; this keeps the driver better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. A knee airbag also helps keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision. The ID.BUZZ doesn’t offer knee airbags.

To allow off-road and deep snow capability, Four-Wheel Drive is standard on the Wagoneer S. But it costs extra on the ID.BUZZ.

Both the Wagoneer S and the ID.BUZZ have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras and rear cross-path warning.

Jeep’s powertrain warranty covers the Wagoneer S 1 year and 10,000 miles longer than Volkswagen covers the ID.BUZZ. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 5 years or 60,000 miles. Coverage on the ID.BUZZ ends after only 4 years or 50,000 miles.

The Wagoneer S’ corrosion warranty is unlimited miles longer than the ID.BUZZ’s (unlimited vs. 100,000 miles).

There are almost 4 times as many Jeep dealers as there are Volkswagen dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Wagoneer S’ warranty.

The Wagoneer S Limited 4dr Sport Utility’s electric motors produces 165 more horsepower (500 vs. 335) and 12 lbs.-ft. more torque (524 vs. 512) than the ID.BUZZ’s optional electric motors. The Wagoneer S’ optional electric motors produces 265 more horsepower (600 vs. 335) and 105 lbs.-ft. more torque (617 vs. 512) than the ID.BUZZ’s optional electric motors.

The Jeep Wagoneer S has standard four-wheel disc brakes for better stopping power and improved directional control in poor weather. Only rear drums come on the ID.BUZZ. Drums can heat up and make stops longer, especially with antilock brakes that work much harder than conventional brakes.

The Wagoneer S has a standard easy tire fill system. When inflating the tires, the vehicle’s integrated tire pressure sensors keep track of the pressure as the tires fill and tell the driver when the tires are inflated to the proper pressure. The ID.BUZZ doesn’t offer vehicle monitored tire inflation.

For greater off-road capability the Wagoneer S has a greater minimum ground clearance than the ID.BUZZ (6.4 vs. 6.3 inches), allowing the Wagoneer S to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged.

The Jeep Wagoneer S may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 300 to 450 pounds less than the Volkswagen ID.BUZZ.

Optional air conditioned front and rear seats keep the Wagoneer S’ passengers comfortable and take the sting out of hot leather in summer. The ID.BUZZ doesn’t offer air-conditioned seats for the second row.

Compared to the Volkswagen ID.BUZZ, the Jeep Wagoneer S eliminates the need for separate garage door openers and associated risks of losing, breaking, or having dead batteries with its standard integrated Homelink® universal remote controlled from the driver’s visor.
