The Alfa Romeo Tonale doesn’t offer pretensioners for its rear seat belts.

Both the Macan Electric and Tonale have rear cross-traffic warning, but the Macan Electric has Rear Cross Traffic Alert (automatically applies the brakes) to better prevent a collision when backing near traffic. The Tonale’s Rear Cross-Path Detection doesn’t automatically brake.

The Macan Electric’s standard electric motor produces 70 more horsepower (355 vs. 285) and 68 lbs.-ft. more torque (415 vs. 347) than the Tonale’s 1.3 turbo 4-cylinder hybrid. The Macan 4 Electric’s standard electric motors produces 117 more horsepower (402 vs. 285) and 132 lbs.-ft. more torque (479 vs. 347) than the Tonale’s 1.3 turbo 4-cylinder hybrid. The Macan 4S’ standard electric motors produces 224 more horsepower (509 vs. 285) and 257 lbs.-ft. more torque (604 vs. 347) than the Tonale’s 1.3 turbo 4-cylinder hybrid. The Macan Turbo Electric’s standard electric motors produces 345 more horsepower (630 vs. 285) and 486 lbs.-ft. more torque (833 vs. 347) than the Tonale’s 1.3 turbo 4-cylinder hybrid.

The Macan Electric can travel with zero emissions on a full charge for 288 to 315 miles. The Tonale has to start its internal combustion engine after only 33 miles.

The Macan Electric’s launch control uses engine electronics to hold engine RPM’s precisely in order to provide the most stable and rapid acceleration possible, using all of the available traction. The Tonale doesn’t offer launch control.

The Macan Turbo Electric’s optional front and rear disc brakes are vented to help dissipate heat for shorter stops with less fading. The rear discs on the Tonale are solid, not vented.

For better traction, the Macan Electric has larger standard tires than the Tonale (F:235/55R20 & R:285/45R20 vs. 225/55R18). The Macan Electric’s optional tires are larger than the largest tires available on the Tonale (F:255/45R21 & R:295/40R21 vs. 235/45R19).

The Macan Electric’s standard 285/45R20 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 45 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Tonale’s 55 series tires. The front grille of the Macan Electric uses electronically controlled shutters to close off airflow and reduce drag when less engine cooling is needed. This helps improve highway fuel economy. The Tonale doesn’t offer active grille shutters.

Unlike the driver-only memory system optional in the Tonale, the Macan Electric offers an optional driver and passenger memory, so that when drivers switch, the memory setting adjusts the driver’s seat, steering wheel position and outside mirror angle and the front passenger seat also adjusts to the new passenger’s preset preferences.

The Macan Electric offers an optional heads-up display that projects speed, navigation instruction and driver assistance information readouts in front of the driver’s line of sight, allowing drivers to view information without diverting their eyes from the road. The Tonale doesn’t offer a heads-up display.

The Macan Electric’s standard Comfort Access allow you to unlock the doors from any outside door handle, open the cargo door, and start the vehicle, all without removing the key from the pocket or purse. Keyless-Enter-n-Go standard on the Tonale doesn’t offer a sensor on the rear doors, so you’ll have to reach a front handle to unlock the rear door.

Manual rear side window sunshades are available in the Macan Electric to help block heat and glare for the rear passengers. The Tonale doesn’t offer rear side window sunshades.

When the Macan Electric with available tilt-down mirrors is put in reverse, the passenger rearview mirror tilts from its original position. This gives the driver a better view of the curb during parallel parking maneuvers. Shifting out of reverse puts the mirror into its original position. The Tonale’s mirror doesn’t automatically adjust for backing.
