A passive infrared night vision system standard on the Vistiq Premium Luxury/Platinum helps the driver to more easily detect people, animals or other objects in front of the vehicle at night. Using an infrared camera to detect heat, the system then displays the image on a monitor in the dashboard. The EX90 doesn’t offer a night vision system.

Both the Vistiq and the EX90 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, around view monitors, rear cross-path warning and driver alert monitors.

Cadillac’s powertrain warranty covers the Vistiq 2 years and 20,000 miles longer than Volvo covers the EX90. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 6 years or 70,000 miles. Coverage on the EX90 ends after only 4 years or 50,000 miles.

There are over 2 times as many Cadillac dealers as there are Volvo dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Vistiq’s warranty.

From surveys of all its subscribers, Consumer Reports’ January 2024 Auto Issue reports that Cadillac vehicles are more reliable than Volvo vehicles. Consumer Reports ranks Cadillac 9 places higher in reliability than Volvo.

The Vistiq’s electric motors produces 213 more horsepower (615 vs. 402) and 82 lbs.-ft. more torque (650 vs. 568) than the EX90’s standard electric motors. The Vistiq’s electric motors produces 105 more horsepower (615 vs. 510) than the EX90’s optional electric motors.

For better stopping power the Vistiq Platinum’s front brake rotors are larger than those on the EX90:

The Vistiq’s standard front and rear disc brakes are vented to help dissipate heat for shorter stops with less fading. The rear discs on the EX90 are solid, not vented.

For better traction, the Vistiq has larger standard tires than the EX90 (285/45R21 vs. 255/50R20). The Vistiq’s optional tires are larger than the largest tires available on the EX90 (305/35R23 vs. 265/45R21).

The Vistiq’s standard tires provide better handling because they have a lower 45 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the EX90’s standard 50 series front tires. The Vistiq’s optional tires have a lower 35 series profile than the EX90’s optional 40 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Vistiq has standard 21-inch wheels. Smaller 20-inch wheels are standard on the EX90. The Vistiq’s optional 23-inch wheels are larger than the 22-inch wheels optional on the EX90.

The Cadillac Vistiq’s wheels have 6 lugs for longer wheel bearing life, less chance of rotor warping and greater strength. The Volvo EX90 only has 5 wheel lugs per wheel.

Having a flat tire is dangerous, inconvenient and expensive. The self-sealing tires standard on the Vistiq can automatically seal most punctures up to 3/16 of an inch, effectively preventing most flat tires. The EX90 doesn’t offer self-sealing tires.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Vistiq’s wheelbase is 4.3 inches longer than on the EX90 (121.8 inches vs. 117.5 inches).

The Vistiq has 2.2 inches more front legroom, 1.5 inches more front hip room, 2.9 inches more front shoulder room, 3.7 inches more rear legroom, .8 inches more rear hip room, 1.9 inches more rear shoulder room, 3.8 inches more third row headroom and 7.6 inches more third row shoulder room than the EX90.

The Vistiq’s cargo area provides more volume than the EX90.

The Vistiq’s standard towing capacity is much higher than the EX90’s (5000 vs. 4850 pounds).

J.D. Power and Associates surveys of service recipients show that Cadillac service is better than Volvo. J.D. Power ranks Cadillac fifth in service department satisfaction. With a 34% lower rating, Volvo is ranked 23rd.

Unlike the driver-only memory seat and mirrors in the EX90, the Vistiq has standard driver and passenger memory, so that when drivers switch, the memory setting adjusts the driver’s seat, steering wheel position and outside mirror angle and the front passenger seat also adjusts to the new passenger’s preset preferences.

The Vistiq’s power mirror controls are mounted on the armrest for easy access. The EX90’s power mirror controls are embedded in the infotainment system, seriously distracting drivers who have to adjust them while driving.

The Cadillac Vistiq has power folding mirrors that offer unparalleled convenience while maneuvering in tight places or parked. With the mirrors folded it’s easier to walk past and help prevent parking damage. The mirrors can be quickly unfolded when the driver is ready to leave. Power folding mirrors are not standard on all versions of the EX90.

The Cadillac Vistiq stands out above the Volvo EX90 by offering not one, but two Qi-compatible phone chargers. This convenience helps travelers with multiple devices to keep powered up on-the-go. Wireless charging eliminates lost or cluttered charging cables and two of them provide more flexibility. Both vehicles also offer Qi charging for the second row passengers.

The Vistiq has a 115-volt a/c outlet on the center console, allowing you to recharge a laptop or run small household appliances without special adapters that can break or get misplaced. The EX90 doesn’t offer a house-current electrical outlet.
