The EQB’s optional pre-crash front seatbelts will tighten automatically in the event the vehicle detects an impending crash, improving protection against injury significantly. The Optiq doesn’t offer pre-crash pretensioners.

The EQB offers an optional Post Collision Brake, which automatically applies the brakes in the event of a crash to help prevent secondary collisions and prevent further injuries. The Optiq doesn’t offer a post collision braking system: in the event of a collision that triggers the airbags, more collisions are possible without the protection of airbags that may have already deployed.

Earlier warning of stopped traffic, traffic signals, dangerous road conditions, weather, or accidents, can keep driver's safer and prevent crashes. The EQB offers optional Car-to-X Communication, a system that seamlessly communicates important warnings to the driver about impending danger, if they're available. The Optiq doesn’t offer a system that can receive automated systems from infrastructure or other vehicles.

Both the EQB and the Optiq have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front and rear seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning, driver alert monitors, available lane departure warning systems and around view monitors.

The EQB 350’s standard electric motors produces 29 lbs.-ft. more torque (383 vs. 354) than the Optiq’s electric motors.

The EQB has a standard locking charge port which locks and unlocks with the power locks. The Optiq doesn’t have a locking charge port. A locking charge port prevents tampering and damage.

For better stopping power the EQB’s brake rotors are larger than those on the Optiq:

The EQB offers an optional driver-adjustable suspension system. It allows the driver to choose between an extra-supple ride, reducing fatigue on long trips, or a sport setting, which allows maximum control for tricky roads or off-road. The Optiq’s suspension doesn’t offer adjustable shock absorbers.

The EQB’s drift compensation steering can automatically compensate for road conditions which would cause the vehicle to drift from side to side, helping the driver to keep the vehicle straight more easily. The Optiq doesn’t offer drift compensation steering.

For better maneuverability, the EQB’s turning circle is 1.4 feet tighter than the Optiq’s (38.4 feet vs. 39.8 feet).

The Mercedes EQB may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 350 to 550 pounds less than the Cadillac Optiq.

The EQB is 5.4 inches shorter than the Optiq, making the EQB easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The EQB offers optional seating for 7 passengers; the Optiq can only carry 5.

The EQB has 1.1 inches more front headroom, .6 inches more rear headroom and .3 inches more rear legroom than the Optiq.

For enhanced passenger comfort on long trips the EQB’s middle row seats recline. The Optiq’s rear seats don’t recline.

The EQB’s cargo area provides more volume than the Optiq.

A standard locking glovebox (which can’t be accessed with the valet key) keeps your small valuables safer in the EQB. The Optiq doesn’t offer locking storage for small valuables.

Heated windshield washer nozzles are optional on the EQB to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. The Optiq doesn’t offer heated windshield washer nozzles.

To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the EQB has a standard rear wiper. The Optiq doesn’t offer a rear wiper.

The Optiq’s optional cornering lamps activate a lamp on the front corner when the turn signal is activated. The EQB’s optional adaptive cornering lights turn the actual headlight unit up to several degrees, depending on steering wheel angle and vehicle speed. This lights a significant distance into corners at any speed.

The EQB is available in both front-wheel drive and four-wheel drive configurations. The Optiq doesn’t offer a two-wheel drive configuration.
