Compare the2025 Maserati MC20VS 2024 Ferrari 812

The MC20 offers optional Automated Emergency Braking, which use forward mounted sensors to warn the driver of a possible collision ahead. If the driver doesn’t react and the system determines a collision is imminent, it automatically applies the brakes at full-force in order to reduce the force of the crash or avoid it altogether. The 812 doesn't offer collision warning or crash mitigation brakes.

The MC20 offers an optional Surround View System to allow the driver to see objects all around the vehicle on a screen. The 812 only offers a rear monitor and front and rear parking sensors that beep or flash a light. That doesn’t help with obstacles to the sides.

To help make backing out of a parking space safer, the MC20’s standard Rear Cross Path uses sensors in the rear to alert the driver to vehicles approaching from the side, helping the driver avoid collisions. The 812 doesn’t offer a rear cross-path warning system.

The MC20 has standard SOS and Assist Call, which uses a global positioning satellite (GPS) receiver and a cellular system to help track down your vehicle if it’s stolen or send emergency personnel to the scene if any airbags deploy. The 812 doesn’t offer a GPS response system, only a navigation computer with no live response for emergencies, so if you’re involved in an accident and you’re incapacitated help may not come as quickly.

Both the MC20 and the 812 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights and front and rear parking sensors.

The MC20 comes with a full 4-year/50,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire car and includes free 24-hour roadside assistance. The 812’s 3-year basic warranty expires 1 year sooner.

The MC20’s corrosion warranty is 1 year longer than the 812’s (4 vs. 3 years).

There are almost 3 times as many Maserati dealers as there are Ferrari dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the MC20’s warranty.

The battery on the MC20 is in the trunk, which protects it from hot underhood temperatures that can degrade battery life. By keeping the MC20’s battery 20 to 30 degrees cooler, its life is increased by years. The 812’s battery is in the hot engine compartment.

The MC20’s standard 3.0 turbo V6 produces 8 lbs.-ft. more torque (538 vs. 530) than the 812’s 6.5 DOHC V12. The MC20 GT2 Stradale’s standard 3.0 turbo V6 produces 8 lbs.-ft. more torque (538 vs. 530) than the 812’s 6.5 DOHC V12.

On the EPA test cycle the MC20 3.0 turbo V6 gets better fuel mileage than the 812 GTS (15 city/25 hwy vs. 12 city/16 hwy).

An eight-speed automatic (SMG) is standard on the Maserati MC20, for better acceleration and lower engine speed on the highway. Only a seven-speed automatic is available for the 812.

The MC20’s 305/30R20 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 30 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the 812’s standard 35 series tires.

For better maneuverability, the MC20’s turning circle is 2.4 feet tighter than the 812’s (38.7 feet vs. 41.1 feet).

The Maserati MC20 may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs up to about 400 pounds less than the Ferrari 812.

The MC20 has a standard remote vehicle starting system, so the vehicle can be started from inside the driver's house. This allows the driver to comfortably warm up the engine before going out to the vehicle. The climate system will also automatically heat or cool the interior. The 812 doesn’t offer a remote starting system.

The MC20’s front power windows open or close with one touch of the switches, making it more convenient at drive-up windows and toll booths, or when talking with someone outside of the car. The 812’s front passenger window doesn’t close automatically.

If the windows are left open on the MC20 the driver can close them all from a distance using the remote. On a hot day the driver can also lower the windows the same way. The driver of the 812 can only operate the windows from inside the vehicle, with the ignition on.

The MC20’s standard Extended Keyless Go allow you to unlock the doors from either outside door handle and start the engine, all without removing the key from the pocket or purse. Keyless Start standard on the 812 only offers hands-free access for the ignition, none to unlock the car.

While driving with high beams on, sensitive light sensors standard on the MC20 detect other vehicles which could be blinded and automatically switch to low beams. The 812 doesn’t offer automatic dimming high beams.

Both the Maserati MC20 and Ferrari 812 offer exterior mirrors that can be folded to provide convenience. The MC20 features standard power folding mirrors, which allow for easy, one-touch folding or unfolding at the driver’s discretion. This provides added convenience when maneuvering or parking, as well as when walking past the parked vehicle. In comparison, the 812’s foldable mirrors are manual, requiring the driver to get out and physically fold them once parked and unfold them before getting in.

To keep a safe, consistent following distance, the MC20 has a standard Adaptive Cruise Control, which alters the speed of the vehicle without driver intervention. This allows the driver to use cruise control more safely without constantly having to disengage it when approaching slower traffic. The 812 doesn’t offer an adaptive cruise control.

The MC20’s standard steering wheel mounted cruise control on/off switch is conveniently located with the rest of the cruise controls. The 812’s standard cruise control must be turned on with a hard to find switch on the dashboard.

To quickly and conveniently keep personal devices charged without cables tangling and wearing out, the Maserati MC20 has a standard wireless phone charging system (Qi) in the front center console. The 812 doesn’t offer wireless personal charging.

The Maserati MC20 comes in coupe and convertible bodystyles; the Ferrari 812 isn’t available as a coupe.
