2025 Maserati MC20
2025 Ferrari 12Cilindri

Safety

The MC20 offers an optional Surround View System to allow the driver to see objects all around the vehicle on a screen. The 12Cilindri doesn’t offer any parking assist system.

To help make backing out of a parking space safer, the MC20’s standard Rear Cross Path uses sensors in the rear to alert the driver to vehicles approaching from the side, helping the driver avoid collisions. The 12Cilindri doesn’t offer a rear cross-path warning system.

Both the MC20 and the 12Cilindri have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding and daytime running lights.

Warranty

The MC20 comes with a full 4-year/50,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire car and includes free 24-hour roadside assistance. The 12Cilindri’s 3-year basic warranty expires 1 year sooner.

The MC20’s corrosion warranty is 1 year longer than the 12Cilindri’s (4 vs. 3 years).

There are almost 3 times as many Maserati dealers as there are Ferrari dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the MC20’s warranty.

Reliability

The 12Cilindri’s redline is at 9500 RPM, which causes more engine wear, and a greater chance of a catastrophic engine failure. The MC20 has a 8000 RPM redline.

Engine

The MC20’s standard 3.0 turbo V6 produces 38 lbs.-ft. more torque (538 vs. 500) than the 12Cilindri’s 6.5 DOHC V12. The MC20 GT2 Stradale’s standard 3.0 turbo V6 produces 38 lbs.-ft. more torque (538 vs. 500) than the 12Cilindri’s 6.5 DOHC V12.

Fuel Economy and Range

The MC20 has a standard cap-less fueling system. The fuel filler is automatically opened when the fuel nozzle is inserted and automatically closed when it’s removed. This eliminates the need to unscrew and replace the cap and it reduces fuel evaporation, which causes pollution. The 12Cilindri doesn’t offer a cap-less fueling system.

Tires and Wheels

The MC20’s 305/30R20 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 30 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the 12Cilindri’s 35 series tires.

Chassis

The Maserati MC20 may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 300 to 650 pounds less than the Ferrari 12Cilindri.

Ergonomics

The MC20 has a standard remote vehicle starting system, so the vehicle can be started from inside the driver's house. This allows the driver to comfortably warm up the engine before going out to the vehicle. The climate system will also automatically heat or cool the interior. The 12Cilindri doesn’t offer a remote starting system.

The Maserati MC20 has power folding mirrors that offer unparalleled convenience while maneuvering in tight places or parked. With the mirrors folded, it’s easier to walk past and help prevent parking damage. The mirrors can be quickly unfolded when the driver is ready to leave. Power folding mirrors are not standard on all versions of the 12Cilindri.
