Both the EV6 and Blazer EV have child safety locks to prevent children from opening the rear doors. The EV6 has power child safety locks, allowing the driver to activate and deactivate them from the driver's seat and to know when they're engaged. The Blazer EV’s child locks have to be individually engaged at each rear door with a manual switch. The driver can’t know the status of the locks without opening the doors and checking them.

Both the EV6 and the Blazer EV have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning and available around view monitors.

The EV6 comes with a full 5-year/60,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire truck and includes 24-hour roadside assistance. The Blazer EV’s 3-year/36,000-mile basic warranty expires 2 years or 24,000 miles sooner.

Kia’s powertrain warranty covers the EV6 5 years and 40,000 miles longer than Chevrolet covers the Blazer EV. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 10 years or 100,000 miles. Coverage on the Blazer EV ends after only 5 years or 60,000 miles.

A reliable vehicle saves its owner time, money and trouble. Nobody wants to be stranded or have to be without a vehicle while it’s being repaired. Consumer Reports rates the EV6’s reliability 26 points higher than the Blazer EV.

From surveys of all its subscribers, Consumer Reports’ March 2025 Auto Issue reports that Kia vehicles are more reliable than Chevrolet vehicles. Consumer Reports ranks Kia 7 places higher in reliability than Chevrolet.

The EV6 Long Range’s optional electric motors produces 32 more horsepower (320 vs. 288) and 113 lbs.-ft. more torque (446 vs. 333) than the Blazer EV’s electric motors. The EV6 GT’s standard electric motors produces 353 more horsepower (641 vs. 288) and 235 lbs.-ft. more torque (568 vs. 333) than the Blazer EV’s electric motors.

As tested in Car and Driver the EV6 Long Range electric motors is faster than the Chevrolet Blazer EV:

The EV6 can travel longer on a full charge than the Blazer EV on a full charge:

The EV6 has a standard locking charge port which locks and unlocks with the power locks. The Blazer EV doesn’t have a locking charge port. A locking charge port prevents tampering and damage.

For better stopping power the EV6’s front brake rotors are larger than those on the Blazer EV:

The EV6 GT’s standard front and rear disc brakes are vented to help dissipate heat for shorter stops with less fading. The rear discs on the Blazer EV are solid, not vented.

The EV6 stops much shorter than the Blazer EV:

The EV6’s standard tires provide better handling because they have a lower 55 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Blazer EV LT’s standard 60 series tires.

The EV6 offers an available driver-adjustable suspension system. It allows the driver to choose between an extra-supple ride, reducing fatigue on long trips, or a sport setting, which allows maximum control for tricky roads or off-road. The Blazer EV’s suspension doesn’t offer adjustable shock absorbers.

The EV6’s front to rear weight distribution is more even (48.3% to 51.7%) than the Blazer EV’s (55% to 45%). This gives the EV6 more stable handling and braking.

The EV6 GT handles at .92 G’s, while the Blazer EV RS pulls only .80 G’s of cornering force in a Car and Driver skidpad test.

The EV6 GT executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver 2.3 seconds quicker than the Blazer EV RS (25.1 seconds @ .77 average G’s vs. 27.4 seconds @ .63 average G’s).

For better maneuverability, the EV6’s turning circle is 1.5 feet tighter than the Blazer EV’s (38.2 feet vs. 39.7 feet). The EV6 GT’s turning circle is .5 feet tighter than the Blazer EV’s (39.2 feet vs. 39.7 feet).

The Kia EV6 may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 500 to 1050 pounds less than the Chevrolet Blazer EV.

The EV6 is 7.4 inches shorter than the Blazer EV, making the EV6 easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The front grille of the EV6 uses electronically controlled shutters to close off airflow and reduce drag when less engine cooling is needed. This helps improve highway fuel economy. The Blazer EV doesn’t offer active grille shutters.

For enhanced passenger comfort on long trips the EV6’s rear seats recline. The Blazer EV’s rear seats don’t recline.

A low lift-over cargo hatch design makes loading and unloading the EV6 easier. The EV6’s cargo hatch lift-over height is 28.6 inches, while the Blazer EV’s liftover is 29.7 inches.

Pulling a handle automatically lowers the EV6’s rear seats, to make changing between passengers and cargo easier. The Blazer EV doesn’t offer automatic folding seats.

A maintenance reminder system is standard on the EV6 to save the owner time and money by calculating maintenance intervals based on odometer mileage. This takes the guesswork out of keeping your vehicle in top condition and helps it last longer. Chevrolet doesn’t offer a maintenance reminder on the Blazer EV.

The EV6 GT-Line/GT’s front power windows both open or close with one touch of the switches. The Blazer EV’s front passenger window doesn’t close automatically.

The EV6’s rain-sensitive wipers adjust their speed and turn on and off automatically based on the amount of rainfall on the windshield. This allows the driver to concentrate on driving without constantly adjusting the wipers. The Blazer EV’s standard manually variable intermittent wipers have to be constantly adjusted.

The EV6’s standard outside mirrors include heating elements to clear off the mirrors for better visibility. Chevrolet charges extra for heated mirrors on the Blazer EV.

The Kia EV6 has power folding mirrors that offer unparalleled convenience while maneuvering in tight places or parked. With the mirrors folded it’s easier to walk past and help prevent parking damage. The mirrors can be quickly unfolded when the driver is ready to leave. Power folding mirrors costs extra on the Blazer EV.

The EV6 has a standard dual zone air conditioning allows the driver and front passenger to choose two completely different temperatures so people with different temperature preferences won’t have to compromise. This makes both the driver and front passenger as comfortable as possible. Dual zone air conditioning is only available on the Blazer EV RS.

To quickly and conveniently keep personal devices charged without cables tangling and wearing out, the Kia EV6 has a standard wireless phone charging system (Qi) in the center console. Wireless charging costs extra on the Blazer EV.

The EV6 offers an optional 115-volt a/c outlet on the rear seat, allowing you to recharge a laptop or run small household appliances without special adapters that can break or get misplaced. The Blazer EV doesn’t offer a house-current electrical outlet.

The EV6 is available in both rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive configurations. The Blazer EV doesn’t offer a two-wheel drive configuration.

J.D. Power and Associates rated the EV6 first among compact suvs in owner reported satisfaction. This includes how well the vehicle performs and satisfies its owner’s expectations. The Blazer EV isn’t in the top three.

The EV6 was chosen as a Car and Driver’s “Top Ten” for 2023. The Blazer EV has never been chosen by Car and Driver in their “10Best” issue.
