2025 Ferrari SF90
2024 McLaren 750S

Safety

The SF90 has all-wheel drive to maximize traction under poor conditions, especially in ice and snow. The 750S doesn’t offer all-wheel drive.

Both the SF90 and the 750S have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding and rearview cameras.

Warranty

Ferrari pays for scheduled maintenance on the SF90 for 4 years and unlimited miles longer than McLaren pays for maintenance for the 750S (7/unlimited vs. 3/unlimited).

Engine

The SF90’s standard 4.0 turbo V8 hybrid produces 246 more horsepower (986 vs. 740) than the 750S’ 4.0 turbo V8. The SF90 XX Stradale’s standard 4.0 turbo V8 hybrid produces 278 more horsepower (1018 vs. 740) and 3 lbs.-ft. more torque (593 vs. 590) than the 750S’ 4.0 turbo V8.

As tested in Motor Trend the Ferrari SF90 4.0 is faster than the McLaren 750S:

The SF90 XX Stradale can travel with zero emissions for 8 miles. The 750S can’t move without running its internal combustion engine.

The SF90 can travel with zero emissions for 8 miles. The 750S can’t move without running its internal combustion engine.

Regenerative brakes improve the SF90’s fuel efficiency by converting inertia back into energy instead of wasting it. The 750S doesn’t offer a regenerative braking system.

Transmission and Drivetrain

An eight-speed automatic (SMG) is standard on the Ferrari SF90, for better acceleration and lower engine speed on the highway. Only a seven-speed automatic is available for the 750S.

All wheel drive, available in the SF90, provides the best traction for acceleration in wet, dry, and icy conditions. In corners, all wheel drive allows both outside wheels to provide power, balancing the car. This allows for better handling. The McLaren 750S is not available with all wheel drive.

Brakes and Stopping

For better stopping power the SF90’s front brake rotors are larger than those on the 750S:

Tires and Wheels

For better traction, the SF90 has larger tires than the 750S (F:255/35R20 & R:315/30R20 vs. F:245/35R19 & R:305/30R20).

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the SF90 has standard 20-inch wheels. Only 19-inch front wheels are available on the 750S.

Suspension and Handling

The SF90’s front to rear weight distribution is more even (45% to 55%) than the 750S’ (41.2% to 58.8%). This gives the SF90 more stable handling and braking.

Ergonomics

The SF90’s instruments include an oil pressure gauge and a temperature gauge - which could save your engine! Often ‘idiot lights’ don’t warn you until damage has been done. The 750S does not have an oil pressure gauge.

The SF90 has a standard heads-up display that projects speed in front of the driver’s line of sight, allowing drivers to view information without diverting their eyes from the road. The 750S doesn’t offer a heads-up display.

To help keep the driver’s hands on the wheel, the SF90 has standard steering wheel controls for the radio. The 750S doesn’t offer steering wheel audio controls.

The Ferrari SF90 has a standard Homelink wireless remote control system for garage door operation and device management, conveniently located on the rear view mirror. Homelink® eliminates the need for separate garage door openers and associated risks of losing, breaking, or having dead batteries. McLaren charges extra for Homelink® on the 750S.
