The SF90 has all-wheel drive to maximize traction under poor conditions, especially in ice and snow. The 718 Cayman doesn’t offer all-wheel drive.
Both the SF90 and the 718 Cayman have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights and rearview cameras.
The SF90 comes with a full 3-year/unlimited-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire car and includes free 24-hour roadside assistance. The 718 Cayman’s 50,000-mile basic warranty expires sooner.
Ferrari pays for scheduled maintenance on the SF90 for 6 years and unlimited miles longer than Porsche pays for maintenance for the 718 Cayman (7/unlimited vs. 1/10,000).

On the EPA test cycle the SF90 XX Stradale 4.0 turbo V8 Hybrid running its gasoline engine gets better fuel mileage than the 718 Cayman GT4 RS (16 city/19 hwy vs. 15 city/19 hwy).
The SF90 XX Stradale can travel with zero emissions for 8 miles. The 718 Cayman can’t move without running its internal combustion engine.
The SF90 has 3.8 gallons more fuel capacity than the 718 Cayman’s standard fuel tank (18 vs. 14.2 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups. The SF90 has 1.1 gallons more fuel capacity than the 718 Cayman’s optional fuel tank (18 vs. 16.9 gallons).
The Ferrari SF90 comes standard with an automatic transmission, for driver comfort, especially in the city. Automatic costs extra on the 718 Cayman.
An eight-speed automatic (SMG) is standard on the Ferrari SF90, for better acceleration and lower engine speed on the highway. Only a seven-speed automatic is available for the 718 Cayman.
All wheel drive, available in the SF90, provides the best traction for acceleration in wet, dry, and icy conditions. In corners, all wheel drive allows both outside wheels to provide power, balancing the car. This allows for better handling. The Porsche 718 Cayman is not available with all wheel drive.

For better traction, the SF90 has larger tires than the 718 Cayman (F:255/35R20 & R:315/30R20 vs. F:235/45R18 & R:265/45R18). The SF90’s tires are larger than the largest tires available on the 718 Cayman (F:255/35R20 & R:315/30R20 vs. F:245/35R20 & R:295/30R20).
The SF90’s 255/35R20 front and 315/30R20 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 35 series front and 30 series rear profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the 718 Cayman’s standard 45 series tires.
For better ride, handling and brake cooling the SF90 has standard 20-inch wheels. Smaller 18-inch wheels are standard on the 718 Cayman.
For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the SF90’s wheelbase is 6.9 inches longer than on the 718 Cayman (104.3 inches vs. 97.4 inches).
For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the SF90 is 6.1 inches wider in the front and 4.6 inches wider in the rear than the average track on the 718 Cayman.
The SF90 Assetto Fiorano Coupe handles at 1.07 G’s, while the 718 Cayman S pulls only 1.01 G’s of cornering force in a Motor Trend skidpad test.
The SF90’s standard power retractable hardtop allows a seamless transition from an open car, to a completely sealed coupe. The 718 Cayman doesn’t offer a retractable hardtop.
The SF90’s standard easy entry system raises the steering wheel, making it easier for the driver to get in and out. An easy entry system costs extra on the 718 Cayman.
The SF90 has a standard heads-up display that projects speed in front of the driver’s line of sight, allowing drivers to view information without diverting their eyes from the road. The 718 Cayman doesn’t offer a heads-up display.
The SF90 has standard Push-button start that allows you to start the car without removing the key from the pocket or purse. Porsche Entry and Drive costs extra on the 718 Cayman.
The SF90’s power window, power lock, power mirror and cruise control switches are lit from behind, making them plainly visible and easier to operate at night. The 718 Cayman’s cruise control switches are unlit, making them difficult to find at night and operate safely.
The SF90’s LED headlights produce a white, bright light using less electricity than the 718 Cayman’s standard xenon high intensity discharge (HID) headlights. HID headlights can be slow to reach full brightness or power cycle, causing issues when flashing them to signal other vehicles; LED headlights light instantly. LED lights also last about three to four times as long.
The Ferrari SF90 has power folding mirrors that offer unparalleled convenience while maneuvering in tight places or parked. With the mirrors folded it’s easier to walk past and help prevent parking damage. The mirrors can be quickly unfolded when the driver is ready to leave. Power folding mirrors costs extra on the 718 Cayman.
