Safety

The SF90 has all-wheel drive to maximize traction under poor conditions, especially in ice and snow. The DB12 doesn’t offer all-wheel drive.

Both the SF90 and the DB12 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights and rearview cameras.

Warranty

Ferrari pays for scheduled maintenance on the SF90 for 7 years and unlimited miles. Ferrari will pay for oil changes, air filter replacements, cabin filter replacement, brake fluid replacement, inspections, and any other required maintenance. Aston Martin doesn’t pay scheduled maintenance for the DB12.

Engine

The SF90’s standard 4.0 turbo V8 hybrid produces 316 more horsepower (986 vs. 670) and 77 lbs.-ft. more torque (590 vs. 513) than the DB12’s 4.0 turbo V8. The SF90 XX Stradale’s standard 4.0 turbo V8 hybrid produces 348 more horsepower (1018 vs. 670) and 80 lbs.-ft. more torque (593 vs. 513) than the DB12’s 4.0 turbo V8.

Fuel Economy and Range

On the EPA test cycle the SF90 XX Stradale running on electricity gets better mileage than the DB12 (45 city/44 hwy MPGe vs. 15 city/22 hwy).

The SF90 XX Stradale can travel with zero emissions for 8 miles. The DB12 can’t move without running its internal combustion engine.

Regenerative brakes improve the SF90’s fuel efficiency by converting inertia back into energy instead of wasting it. The DB12 doesn’t offer a regenerative braking system.

Transmission and Drivetrain

The SF90 offers a standard sequential manual gearbox (SMG). With no clutch pedal to worry about and a fully automatic mode, an SMG is much more efficient than a conventional automatic but just as easy to drive. The DB12 doesn’t offer an SMG or a conventional manual transmission.

All wheel drive, available in the SF90, provides the best traction for acceleration in wet, dry, and icy conditions. In corners, all wheel drive allows both outside wheels to provide power, balancing the car. This allows for better handling. The Aston Martin DB12 is not available with all wheel drive.

Brakes and Stopping

The SF90 has standard heat-treated ceramic brake rotors, which last ten to twenty times as long as conventional cast iron rotors, don’t rust, don’t fade during repeated high speed braking, and their lighter weight contribute to better braking, handling and acceleration. The DB12 doesn’t offer ceramic brake rotors.

Tires and Wheels

For better traction and acceleration, the SF90 has larger rear tires than the DB12 (315/30R20 vs. 305/30R21).

Chassis

The Ferrari SF90 may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 550 to 800 pounds less than the Aston Martin DB12.

The SF90’s standard power retractable hardtop allows a seamless transition from an open car, to a completely sealed coupe. The DB12 doesn’t offer a retractable hardtop.

Cargo Capacity

A standard locking glovebox keeps your small valuables safer in the SF90. The DB12 doesn’t offer locking storage for small valuables.

Ergonomics

The SF90’s instruments include an oil pressure gauge and a temperature gauge - which could save your engine! Often ‘idiot lights’ don’t warn you until damage has been done. The DB12 does not have an oil pressure gauge.

The SF90 has a standard heads-up display that projects speed in front of the driver’s line of sight, allowing drivers to view information without diverting their eyes from the road. The DB12 doesn’t offer a heads-up display.

The SF90’s power window, power lock, power mirror and cruise control switches are lit from behind, making them plainly visible and easier to operate at night. The DB12’s cruise control switches are unlit, making them difficult to find at night and operate safely.

The Ferrari SF90 has a standard Homelink wireless remote control system for garage door operation and device management, conveniently located on the rear view mirror. Homelink® eliminates the need for separate garage door openers and associated risks of losing, breaking, or having dead batteries. Aston Martin charges extra for Homelink® on the DB12.
