Safety

To maximize occupant safety, the front seat shoulder belts of the Ferrari Roma have pretensioners to eliminate dangerous slack in the event of a collision. The Maserati GranCabrio Foglore doesn’t offer pretensioners.

Both the Roma and the GranCabrio Foglore have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding and front and rear parking sensors.

Warranty

The Roma comes with a full 3-year/unlimited-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire car and includes free 24-hour roadside assistance. The GranCabrio Foglore’s 50,000-mile basic warranty expires sooner.

The Roma’s corrosion warranty is unlimited miles longer than the GranCabrio Foglore’s (unlimited vs. 50,000 miles).

Ferrari pays for scheduled maintenance on the Roma for 7 years and unlimited miles. Ferrari will pay for oil changes, air filter replacements, cabin filter replacement, brake fluid replacement, inspections, and any other required maintenance. Maserati doesn’t pay scheduled maintenance for the GranCabrio Foglore.

For better stopping power the Roma’s brake rotors are larger than those on the GranCabrio Foglore:

The Roma has standard heat-treated ceramic brake rotors, which last ten to twenty times as long as conventional cast iron rotors, don’t rust, don’t fade during repeated high speed braking, and their lighter weight contribute to better braking, handling and acceleration. The GranCabrio Foglore doesn’t offer ceramic brake rotors.

Suspension and Handling

For better maneuverability, the Roma’s turning circle is 5.3 feet tighter than the GranCabrio Foglore’s (35.4 feet vs. 40.7 feet).

Chassis

The Ferrari Roma may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 1550 to 1700 pounds less than the Maserati GranCabrio Foglore.

The Roma is 1 foot shorter than the GranCabrio Foglore, making the Roma easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

Cargo Capacity

The Roma has a much larger trunk with its top down than the GranCabrio Foglore with its top down (6 vs. 4 cubic feet). The Roma has a larger trunk than the GranCabrio Foglore with its top up (6 vs. 5.3 cubic feet).

The Roma’s standard rear seats fold to accommodate long and bulky cargo. The GranCabrio Foglore doesn’t offer folding rear seats.

Ergonomics

The Roma’s standard easy entry system raises the steering wheel, making it easier for the driver to get in and out. The GranCabrio Foglore doesn’t offer an easy entry system.

If the windows are left open on the Roma the driver can close them all from a distance using the remote. On a hot day the driver can also lower the windows the same way. The driver of the GranCabrio Foglore can only operate the windows from inside the vehicle, with the ignition on.

Model Availability

The Ferrari Roma comes in coupe and convertible bodystyles; the Maserati GranCabrio Foglore isn’t available as a coupe.
