Safety

Both the Daytona SP3 and the 911 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights and rearview cameras.

Warranty

The Daytona SP3 comes with a full 3-year/unlimited-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire car and includes free 24-hour roadside assistance. The 911’s 50,000-mile basic warranty expires sooner.

Ferrari pays for scheduled maintenance on the Daytona SP3 for 6 years and unlimited miles longer than Porsche pays for maintenance for the 911 (7/unlimited vs. 1/10,000).

Engine

The Daytona SP3’s 6.5 DOHC V12 produces 441 more horsepower (829 vs. 388) and 183 lbs.-ft. more torque (514 vs. 331) than the 911’s standard 3.0 turbo 6-cylinder. The Daytona SP3’s 6.5 DOHC V12 produces 327 more horsepower (829 vs. 502) and 183 lbs.-ft. more torque (514 vs. 331) than the 911 GT3’s standard 4.0 DOHC 6-cylinder. The Daytona SP3’s 6.5 DOHC V12 produces 311 more horsepower (829 vs. 518) and 172 lbs.-ft. more torque (514 vs. 342) than the 911 GT3 RS/ST’s standard 4.0 DOHC 6-cylinder. The Daytona SP3’s 6.5 DOHC V12 produces 189 more horsepower (829 vs. 640) than the 911 Turbo S’ standard 3.7 turbo 6-cylinder.

Fuel Economy and Range

The Daytona SP3 has 6.1 gallons more fuel capacity than the 911’s standard fuel tank (22.7 vs. 16.6 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

The Daytona SP3 has a standard cap-less fueling system. The fuel filler is automatically opened when the fuel nozzle is inserted and automatically closed when it’s removed. This eliminates the need to unscrew and replace the cap and it reduces fuel evaporation, which causes pollution. The 911 doesn’t offer a cap-less fueling system.

Brakes and Stopping

For better stopping power the Daytona SP3’s standard brake rotors are larger than those on the 911:

Rear Rotors

Tires and Wheels

For better traction, the Daytona SP3 has larger tires than the 911 (F:265/30R20 & R:345/30R21 vs. F:235/40R19 & R:295/35R20).

The Daytona SP3’s tires provide better handling because they have a lower 30 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the 911 Dakar’s standard 45 series front and 40 series rear tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Daytona SP3 has standard 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels. Smaller 19-inch front and 20-inch rear wheels are standard on the 911.

Suspension and Handling

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Daytona SP3’s wheelbase is 7.9 inches longer than on the 911 (104.4 inches vs. 96.5 inches).

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the Daytona SP3 is 3.8 inches wider in the front and 2.6 inches wider in the rear than the average track on the 911.

The Daytona SP3’s front to rear weight distribution is more even (44% to 56%) than the 911’s (39.5% to 60.5%). This gives the Daytona SP3 more stable handling and braking.

Chassis

The Daytona SP3’s standard power retractable hardtop allows a seamless transition from an open car, to a completely sealed coupe. The 911 doesn’t offer a retractable hardtop.

Ergonomics

The Daytona SP3 has standard Keyless Start that allows you to start the engine without removing the key from the pocket or purse. The 911 GT3 doesn’t offer Comfort Access.

In poor weather, headlights can lose their effectiveness as grime builds up on their lenses. This can reduce visibility without the driver realizing. The Daytona SP3 has standard headlight washers to keep headlight output high. The 911 doesn’t offer headlight washers.
